Born and raised in Brooklyn for 18 years straight, then 4 years in CT, and back in Brooklyn for over 5 years. Thankfully, I have the accent when I’m animated about something. Other than that, I don’t have one.
I’m just glad that the test shows that any vestigial trace of my native Western Pennsylvania accent is now entirely gone. By the way, the only idiom from that region I still use is “fixin’ to”, which luckily is fairly common here in Texas.
I took it twice and got different questions. The results for one were close to where I grew up and the other was for my current location. It tends to weight some questions very heavily.
Pinpointed exactly. We must be quite unique here.
It’s Y’all...
It had me nailed down so close, it was a little shocking.
Always heard it pronounced “laitch”.
Maine & Minnesota. Pretty close (I’m Canadian).
Ally’all’s, Plural possesive. As in get ally’alls’s crap out of here and leave.
I get the Great Lakes region, but I’m from Eastern Oregon.
That’s a little spooky. It nailed me. Denver and Aurora CO and Santa Rosa CA. I grew up in Aurora. Never been to Santa Rosa but I guess I’d fit right in.
I got Philadelphia, Newark, and New York. The term “hoagie” was a dead giveaway for Philly area.
I got Omaha, Wichita and Jackson, MS. Not sure what the last one has in common with the first two.
Least similar Boston/NYC area.
If you simply don’t know or have never heard a phrase click “other.”
I took the test twice (gave a few different questions) and both times came up with North Carolina.
Correct both times.
Mine were dead wrong, but possibly because I have lived in a few places. None of which they came up with! lol
Omaha, Lincoln, Wichita....
But, Eyez an Okie...
LOL!!!
I ain’t hear’d thatz in why’ll....
Startling. The survey finale picked the very town that I live in. I have location services turned off.
this is what i got, “Sorry, an error has occurred. Keep this link to save your answers and view your map later.” must be run by govment or the NY times.
I have a proxy server under my internet access. They are using your internet provider to figure out the answer. ha ha.
