So by now we all know about the supposed controversy of what Phil Robertson said in his print interview that got the cackles of the A&E people all up in a liberal Tizzy of Political correctness.
But there is one aspect that hasn't been covered...
Why do Liberal give a rats behind about what other people think about what happens in other people's afterlives, when most athiest liberals don't believe anyone has an afterlife....????
Take Richard Geere...
No Please.. Take him... far far away from TV!!!
He is a Buddist and Buddists believe in Re-incarnation!!! GASP, you mean he thinks that people will be judged inteh after life and be re-incarnated into another creature or something or other.... But that is completely contrary to what liberals tell us we are supoposed to beleive in.... Is Richard Geere a hater? Maybe we should demand all cable channels stop airing his works because he belives that after a person dies they will be reborn as an ant or a cow or a gerbil or pajama boy....
So Phil Robertson says God will judge people in the afterlife... OMG that is sooooo controversial.... That is what he belives in and he is punished about EVEN thinking about that belief... Yet Richard Geere can belive in judgement in the afterlife too via the process of reincarnation as a form of punishment/reward due to his GASP... Faith in Buddism and no one calls for a censorship....
Granted Richard Geere hasn't said that Homosexuals will get reincarneated as some undesireable or desireable rodent... Butt... The fact that his religios beliefs carry some sort of judgement in the after/recycled life should be just as taboo in the liberal PC world of "Judge no one, unless you are the governemnt and you don't like what another person is saying"....
So when it comes down to it... Are not liberal Hypocrtical when it comes to caring what one person thinks about what happens to to others in the afterlife whle blithely ignoring another's belief system because it is Trendy and fashionable while the former is seen/projected by them as "Olde Fashoned and Backwards"...
Hamster feltcher!
You’ve got it - they viscerally KNOW what’s going to happen but seek to deny it so they can have their own way in the here and now,
and any reminder of what they know awaits them will be viciously attacked.
The “line” is always drawn JUST below the way they want to behave anyway.
There is no Buddhist scripture, it’s all texts and teachings of Buddhist masters — meaning what they teach is what worked for them, mortals, so therefor deserves continuous scrutiny and questioning. This is particularly true of Theravada Buddhism — Which is not the Dali Lama’s Buddhism.
The Dalai Lama’s Buddhism is Vajrayana (also known as Tibetan Buddhism) which purports to be an updated version of Mahayana Buddhism which in turn is descendant from Theravada Buddhism.
The problem I have with Vajrayana is it puts too much importance on the Monks and their reincarnation to future monks.
I like the hybrid cross between Theravada Buddhism and Zen Buddhism (a pre-cursor, and now a subset of Mahayana Buddhism) because it fits well with Christian Buddhists.
Particularly the concepts of Paccekabuddha and Sammasambuddha Buddhists in the Theravada thought line.
It’s his lasting, and crowning, achievement.
I agree with your description. I copied the linked articles text, lazy on my part perhaps.
I think the rage that liberals constantly feel and express is due to their total inability to defend their beliefs in a logical, factual, and consistent manner.
Also, that Satan rides them.
Whod did say it?
Richard Gere must be terrified that those Duck Dynasty guys might take up hunting gerbils.
I cannot tell if you realize the irony of posting about giving a “rats behind”, rodents and Richard Gere. If you don’t know, just Google Richard Gere rodents. The rumor was probably just a joke when it comes to Gere.
Snopes claims that the use of rodents in deviant sexual practices is non-existent, but I found the first-hand, eye-witness account of a co-worker who also worked as a fireman, to be credible when he claims to have responded to a 911 call where such deviant behavior had resulted in a severe medical emergency.
i knew exactly what I posted
Hypocrisy. Even Public schoolteachers are good for that one- if they get to words that big.
Buddhists do not believe in judgment as such. It is all bound up in fate and karma. And there are no strictures against homosexuality. Your reincarnation is influenced by your level of attachment, not by “evil” or “good.” Homosexuals tend to be much more “attached” to relationships and conditions than others ergo their reincarnations will be at a lower level than someone with fewer or less intense attachments. The prescription, though is pretty much the same as in Christianity- abstain but the reasoning is different. Homosexuals should, like anyone else striving to get off the Wheel, should strive to abstain from activities and mental attachments of ALL kinds in order to be reincarnated at a higher level. Christians prescribe prayer to overcome temptations, Buddhists meditate and withdraw.
Phil Robertson is the Duck Commander.
Richard Gere is the Gerbil Commander.
Gerbils,the new white meat-—in Peru.
By your logic anybody who believes in hell and the damnation of sinners is in the same boat as Phil. Whether or not he should be shunned or boycotted for what he said, should they face the same fate simply for what they believe?
Those are guinea pigs.
He may just be terrified that he comes back as a Mallard...
I think you’re spot on. This was a false flag operation designed to diminish the popularity of DD, pure & simple. This franchise was becoming too popular in a direction they didn’t count on. Time to tone things down. We can’t have people enjoying normal, regular, downhome family values too much.
I knew that but it didn’t fit the narrative.
