Why can't Jones just enjoy the games in his Owner's box or whatever and let someone else run the damn team?

How the Hell did he survive when Jimmy Johnson went through 5 years of building the team and winning 3 SBs? He didn't fire Johnson through those years, but he fired him afterwards probably out of jealousy. Should have just let Jimmy Johnson remain the coach until they had a string of losing seasons.

Great owners like Robert Kraft and our Packers President Mark Murphy here in Green Bay, they get out of the way and let the GM do all the work. It's time for Jones to do the same thing.

JJ won 2 SBs with Dallas; that clown Barry Switzer won the 3rd one.

But with the team that JJ assembled. JJ is .500 since the last SB in spite of changing coaches. It comes back to drafting talent. Romo is the best QB they have had since Aikman. In the GB game, there is no excuse for having to score again after scoring 36. The Boys haven’t had a top-flight RB since Emmitt Smith, and Dez Bryant, their current WR is not a #1 based on his performance and attitude.

It is all about the GM, and the refusal to give the coaches talent and authority.

Very disappointed in Stafford’s play this season, I really thought he was ready to join the elite of NFL quarterbacks, but he took a huge step backwards this season, even with the addition of Reggie Bush.

Looked like Scott Mitchell this year.

Great owners like Robert Kraft...

He may be a "great" owner in the narrowest sense of the word. But he utterly fails as a human being -- supporting marxist causes.

Plus he let a commie steal his SB ring.

I have been watching Dallas totally dismantle the Deadskins, and the Chicago Bears slow Philly to a crawl.

Next week in AT&T Stadium Dallas ought to crush the Iggles ...

And here's another reason why the homosexualist Robert Kraft deserves nothing but scorn from God-fearing Conservatives: Robert Kraft would welcome a gay player on the New England Patriots. On top of that, Kraft uses the term ultra-PC "gay" for those creatures instead of a proper term, such as sodomite. The term "gay" actually means joyous and happy -- quite the opposite the miserable deathstyle of sodpomites.

Romo is the best QB they have had since Aikman.

Your mention of Tony Romo leads me to ping several Texas FReepers to get their take on an issue tangential to football itself. When Aikman was QB, he was all over TV as a commercial spokesman: Acme Brick, Chief Auto Parts, Kroger and others. And just today, there was an ad with Jason Witten on behalf of Albertsons. I honestly can't recall Tony Romo doing an endorsement for any product or service. Is he that toxic of a figure that no business, local, regional or national, wants to be associated with him?

I don’t think I have seen Romo do any commercials either, but I think Aikman did most of his after he stopped playing.

Romo is the not-quite right QB although sometimes he shines for a half or 3 quarters.

Watching the Eagles destroy the Bears right now, there’s absolutely no way the Cowboys beat them next week. I wonder who the new Cowboys coach will be?

This is a massacre tonight. Next week's game will be flexed to SNF and, once again, Romo (and Garrett) will be in the national spotlight.

Aikman did most of his after he stopped playing.

For sure the Kroger and Chief commercials were done during Troy Aikman's playing days -- both in the early-to-mid 1990s. At that time, Toyota had Michael Irvin as a spokesman.

Aikman was then pretty wooden and stilted on television. I never would have thought that he'd become the premiere color guy he is now. Likewise, Terry Bradshaw originally did color on CBS. It was painful. But he's sure come into his own with the stdio crew at Fox.

Uhhhhh...

Eagles Rout Bears 54-11

I'll be at the game next week, and the chances I'll leave happy seem slim...

I think Philly sent a definite message to the Cowboys tonight.

IIRC, doesn’t Romo generally not go out for endorsement deals and is known to have turned several down?

Dallas is kind of a funny market. You really don’t see many local athletes doing endorsements. Probably the most prominent Dallas athlete is Dirk Nowitzki, and I never recall him doing any endorsements, and his English is fine, so it shouldn’t be an issue.
