Maybe her problem was having 12 dogs?
Is that supposed to be funny.
Another mere coincidence involving a pit bull..
Dogs of Peace.
“Unexpected.”
Dogs don’t kill people, Pit Bulls do!
“When the woman’s son came home and found her body, he shot and killed thedog.”
Guess that dog learned his lesson. What about the other 11?
Something tells me there is more than meets the eye in this story. It mentions that animal control confiscated the other 11 dogs. Why? One wonders if these dogs were abused, neglected, being trained to be vicious, etc.
Reminds me of the dum ho on TV who got her face riped thinking ahe was so womanly understanding of the dog.
No details, but evidently she kept the pit bull in a pen. And probably the other dogs, too.
I don’t know if she was raising them to sell, or what. But dogs don’t like to be penned up like that. It’s certainly no way to treat a pet.
Dogs are great. Not every dog is wonderful. In fact, some are deranged.
Sad. RIP.
I wonder if these owners are getting these dogs high on crack cocaine or something? There is something that is tweaking these dogs to behave like flesh eating zombies high on bath salts.
Well, from watching the video, the pen does not look inhumane or too confining - a large dog run.
What about the other 11 dogs? Pretty simple for the son to notice which dogs had blood on their muzzle - so the other 11 non pit bulls live another day.
Newscasts usually note poor conditions or dog-fight type suspicions but not in this case - instead the news says police are wondering if she was operating a shelter or if these were her pets. Either a shelter or 12 pets is probably not legal at her residence (shelter without a permit?) so I can understand why animal control would collect the dogs. Also, because her son won’t be in much shape to be adopting dogs out right now.
I don’t see anything “not quite right” about this story. Pits want to lead the pack and pits are bred to kill and their kill style is attack-without-warning. We’ve seen so many of these stories bout pits it’s no surprise anymore. According to stats, of the people pits kill, the majority adults in their prime (not just the weak, young, elderly etc.) Puppy wants a challenge, eh?
I found this story, http://blog.dogsbite.org/2013/07/beyond-the-interview-essay-of-a-fatal-pit-bull-mauling.html, very moving (father writes that believing the pit bulls are misunderstood myth is what cost his son’s life)
Here’s the problem, a large dog can get the better of you. Not just pit bulls, but shepards and dobermans and others. That’s why I’m still afraid of dogs and wouldn’t have a large one like those.
EEE, this question has nothing to do with you, but who was the guy on FR who used to post pit bull stories until JimRob got sick of him?
Dogs are dogs. There are a few breeds that are more likely to attack their owners and many would be surprised with which breeds are most responsible.
I would NOT like to be on the receiving end of a (real) Pit Bull. I've had to protect myself from an attacking Wheaton Terrier. Wasn't fun, but I ONLY suffered a deeply gashed and broken right hand thumb.
I'm sad to say, but at least no other people outside of the owner were harmed.
There is so much not in this pathetic excuse for reporting. 5 grossly inadequate lines of *information* and everyone is waving torches and pitchforks.
Let’s see, 12 dogs??
Uh, she’s breaking the ice on the water dish? What the hell was she doing to the dog? Or does anyone here give a damn. It’s a pit bull, that makes it OK to torture it? Any of the deep thinkers here consider that there’s a cause and effect when sick people abuse dogs?
Anyone out there capable of critical thinking? Have I wandered into a trap door into the Huffington Post?
Really sad story. My brother-in-law, a cop, had to kill a pit recently that was in the process of eating some unfortunate teenager. The kid lived, but just barely.
