Something tells me there is more than meets the eye in this story. It mentions that animal control confiscated the other 11 dogs. Why? One wonders if these dogs were abused, neglected, being trained to be vicious, etc.

Given the nature of any animal it will revert to its most natural state given the opportunity. A pit bull bred to kill is going to kill in a distressed state. The others are smarter enuf to just wait for a turn at the leavings.

Maybe it's because she was dead and they had no owner anymore?

Dog fighting is far more common than people think and pit bulls are the breed of choice. Puppies are also easy sell in the same communities that like to fight dogs.

I don’t know what was going on here, but 12 dogs of any kind seems excessive to me. Bad way to die.

Yes, Pit bulls are often trained to be vicious. Perhaps bred to be vicious now too. I’ve heard that they started out being nice enough dogs. Nothing’s as vicious, in my opinion, as stupid nasty people.
