My wife and I bought this after selling our daughter Amanda into white slavery. We actually got a refurbished. It's missing the remote, but oh well-- for $10K off, I can afford a universal, right? The picture is amazing. I've never seen the world with such clarity.
Amanda, if you're reading this, hang in there, honey! We'll see you in a year.

I’ve been skimming them. I still love the one about the pug.
An Amazon VP once said that they would sell anything except concrete, and the exception was only because she didn’t think it would be profitable. (I don’t know if they later found a way to profit from concrete.)
I may have to revise my opinion of refurbs.
Moose what?
scroll down to "moose bit my sister".
I know that set. I worked on a few of them. EVERY one of those “pseudo flat panel” 30” or so “thin tube” sets had linearity problems. Many had voltage regulation problems, solvable by replacing one or 2 resistors in the B+ trim ckt. BUT the linearity problem was NOT really solvable, without a new yoke....and it my have been a “bonded yoke set”....meaning part of the CRT.
This one cracked me up:
“It makes those abused animal commercials with the sarah mclachlan music playing so much sadder when the one-eyed pug is 4 feet tall.”
LMAO ! Funny !!
....”one eyed pug is four feet tall” ...., now thats funny !
Basically you are supposed to sit back about 1.5 inches for every inch the screen.
There’s no product review that can’t be improved by addition of a 4’ pug.
This review was pretty funny: “Haven’t actually bought it yet. Thinking about it... My wife told me that she would leave me if I purchased it and I was wondering if this TV would be worth it.”
I wanted to answer “we can’t really tell without photos” but I couldn’t bring myself post using my full name.
I understand the temptation.
Everyone says they hate anti-American voodoo worshiping Hollywood homos, yet they all want bloated big screens parked in their living rooms.
Gak...
Yup the second one also had that voltage regulation problem.
The screen size would grow or shrink depending on the brightness of the picture.
in between commercials the screen would make weird undulations.
The first one was a floor model, seemed ok at the store I guess, I probably was blinded by the deal I was getting, TV’s were big $$$ back then.
I got home and plugged it in the pic was so bad I couldn’t believe it.
Every corner area was totally out of focus.
What a pos model.
I have a Panasonic 50 inch Plasma now, TV is pretty sweet.
You’re too kind..thanks..
“Sind Sie Kaffee machen?”
Buhahahahahahqa! Hysterical, thankya!
