A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned.
Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
“I’m walking down some block by myself and then the next thing I know, I’m surrounded by a group of Hasidic Jewish men and they’re attacking me,” Patterson said. “I was alone. I was an easy target. I’m black. I’m gay, a whole slew of reasons.”
The New York City College of Technology student left for a fun night out with friends, and returned with a broken eye socket, a torn retina, blood clotting, and cuts and bruises to his knee and ankles.

As others have already suggested in skepticism here:
- The principal slur-word against homosexuals in the Yiddish-rich Hasidic vocabulary is not “fa*got” but “fagele.”
- Also, if we are even POSTULATING an attack (... bear in mind, I don’t think it happened like the guy says) by supposedly bigoted ultra-orthodox Jews, wouldn’t it be more likely that such attackers would refer to the victim’s RACE? (”Schvartze,” etc.)
- what were ultra-orthodox Jews even doing up and about at 4:30 a.m.? It was no longer Shabbat, but still, if your religion closely observes sunrises and sunsets, you tend to sleep nights, not days.
You know it was black dudes, or maybe just one.
This guy was blind drunk and got all queery on somebody who wasn’t interested.

That would be bad enough but this also brings to mind the incident where an orthodox Jewish youth was beaten and/or killed because of a traffic accident in the area, was it Crown Heights? The kid attacked had nothing to do with it. I hope this won’t turn into open season against Hasidic Jews.

Al Sharpton led mobs of blacks to attack Jewish people and destroy Jewish homes and businesses.

I think I may have witnessed this. Before the mentioned “witness” bus driver came along I also saw this poor young man being mercilessly beaten by the Hasidic jews. Also participating in the beating were several young Amish girls and about 3 or 4 members of the Little Sisters of the Poor in their religious habits.
A remaining member of the mob, apparently directing their actions, was a young (college age) white man wearing a T-shirt with a Young Americans for Freedom logo.
I was terribly frightened (traumatized actually) by the sight of this mob so I quickly fled the scene. Perhaps I should set up an account to accept contributions to help me recover from this trauma? /sarc
He doesn’t sound like any angel, but this is entirely possible. The Hasids have harassed girls in summery dresses, etc. and informed them they shouldn’t ride their bicycles dressed like that through “their” neighborhoods. They may not be a Jewish Taliban, bu they’re not all angels either.
