Phil Robertson, the patriarch of AMCs mega-hit show Duck Dynasty, said recently the family was told to quit praying to Jesus because it might offend Muslims.
Robertson told Sports Spectrum:
So when we pray we say In Jesus name, Amen. Its a very good idea, I think. So, they would have me say, Thank you Lord for the food. Thank you for the blessings. Amen. So, I said, Why would you cut out in Jesus name? And they said, Well, these editors they think they dont want to offend some Muslims or something.

From the video: In an interview with sports spectrum magazine Willie & Phil Robertson, stars of Duck Dynasty, talk about fake bleeps, praying in Jesus name, and getting flack from Christians. When the editors of Duck Dynasty asked the stars to stop saying In Jesus Name during prayers because it might offend Muslims, Phil Robertson had to stand his ground.
I stand corrected.
When Phil got wind of it, he called a family meeting and asked if anyone had cursed, they all said no.
When Phil went to the producers they said they put in the bleep to jazz up the episode.
That was the very last time they bleeped anything said in the show.
...Uh, NO...
...the "Uh" is just a sarcastic place mark to insinuate that I actually considered your argument...
...and after careful consideration...
...my answer is NO...
... :) ...
My wife is Jewish and observant. She has no problem with it. We have a Christmas tree. She lights a Menorah and I say the prayers with her. She is an enlightened individual. I guess we're different.
“They have to understand that the fact they pray to Jesus every episode is the REASON people watch it. It is the reason the show is so popular”.
The exact same reason that the Walton’s was popular. The average person still identifies with wholesome shows and not trash.
I did not know that.
I have seen every episode a dozen times.
One of the first episodes, Willie is mad at the dock being flooded and says: “...this shi-BLEEP everywhere”
It sure sounded like he said “doodoo” but knowing them, and knowing producers, I have no problem believing what you say.
Yep like sarcastic: “Lemme think about that for a while, OK NO”
I stand with Phil, on this one.
TV or no TV, what he calls his faith, is his to proclaim or keep quiet about, not some darn executive that might not even keep shabbat!!!
Whether anything in America offends mooslims or not, I don’t care, and they can just get out of MY country.
Yet the producers throw in the phony bleeps to make it seem like there are obscenities being used. No shame.
“Perhaps to be not so exclusive of Muslims, the family should get a dog and name it Mohammed.”
I think a pig would be an even better choice...
