Osaka University, Japan We have been studying phenomena of anomalous heat evolution from hydrogen - isotope - load ed nano - composite samples at elevated temperatures as well as at room temperature using a twin absorption system [1 , 2 ] .
Recent experiments have use d Ni - based nano - composite samples ; Pd 1 Ni 7 /ZrO 2 ( PNZ ), Ni/ZrO 2 ( NZ ) , Cu 0. 08 1 Ni 0. 36 /ZrO 2 ( CNZ ) and Cu 0. 21 Ni 0. 21 /ZrO 2 ( CNZII ). The results of measurements have been presented in the meetings of the 12 th J apan CF - Researc h Society (JCF 12 ) , the 17 th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science (ICCF17) and the 13 th J apan CF - Research Society (JCF13), and have been/will be published in [3], [4] and [5], respectively.
These will be summarized , and the time - de pendent data will be re - analyzed in another paper by A. Takahashi in this Conference for speculating heat releasing mechanisms during the several - week - lasted phase of D(H) - loading into the nano - composite samples .
As will be shown there , a lot of interesting , even astonishing, features are involved; b urst - like heat release with a nomalously high values of differential heat of sorption ( η ) reaching ca. 600 eV/ atom - H , large values of i ntegrated heat reach ing ca. 800 eV/atom - Ni from the CNZ sample absorbing H, and abrupt desorption with absorbed energy of 50 - 80 eV/atom - Ni observed almost exclusively in the first 573 - K run for each sample . To confirm the interesting phenomena , repeated measurements with improved signal - to - noise ratio are required .
Since the easiest way for this is to increase the sample amount, we have fabricated a reaction chamber with a ten - times - larger volume than in - being one. Another important improvement is a mass flow calorimetry ap plied to the system using an oil cool ant with a boiling point of 390 deg - C. Moreover, to make residual gas mass spectral analysis in A = 1 - 6 amu r ange , a QMA system is going to be installed in the line of the apparatus. In the presentation we will show the schematics of this new oil - cooling mass - flow calorimetry system for observing anomalous heat evolution in H(D) - gas charging to Ni - based nano - composite samples and for calibration runs using blank alumina sample. Looks promising.

p. 19 shows 19 or 20 W excess. 20 W is a lot more than they saw previously. The mass of powder is much larger.

It’s like the pendulum keeps swinging a little closer to the peg. A little closer... closer...
I hope I live long enough.
Yeah I am sure it is promising . just like Obama promises
Is that your position, that the thousands of times the PF Anomalous Heat Effect has been replicated is the result of fraud?
Good luck with that huge conspiracy theory.
All the results I have ever seen are in the general area of noise.
Limit (1/n) as n-> infiniti = 0
You never really get to zero though. Food for thought.
That position would be more likely than fusion achieved with low voltage.
***Well, that’s fascinating. Since the PF Anomalous Heat Effect has been replicated more than 14,700 times, that requires that many links in your conspiracy chain. One might as well believe that there were 1400 assassins firing on JFK and the doctors, police, bystanders, and press were all in on the conspiracy to hide the HUGE conspiracy. Here, let me fill the bill to buy you a tinfoil hat.
My real guess is that there is no anomalous heat. Just poorly trained scientists pretending to be experimentalists and not knowing how to measure nanoscopic changes in temperature measurement.
***Oh, cool. I like this one better because it can be addressed with mathematics of probability. Assuming someone who’s doing electrochemistry experiments isn’t a complete 100% dufus, the chances of error in each experiment (knowing that there’s tons of scolding for those who would make such a mistake, as already seen), would generously be 1/3.
Perhaps you do not realize just how ignorant this statement is. The mathematical definition of IMPOSSIBLE is if something has a chance of 10^-50. The chance of measuring errors or noise causing false positives in replication with the 1 in 3 experiments, to be utterly magnanimous to your postulation. So for the errors/noise to account for the 14,700 replications, the chances would be 1/3 ^ 14700, which is ~10^-5000, a whopping, gigantic, HUMUNGOUS four thousand Five Hundred and fifty ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE less than impossible. I tell you what, Ill grant you 3 levels of impossible to be conservative with the numbers, that is 4400 orders of magnitude less than impossible.
And furthermore, there are people who are EXPERTS in determining MEASurement error — they get paid big bucks to get rid of it. National Instruments. Here’s what the
Experts in MEASurement have to say about measurement error causing all this excitement: NO WAY.
National Instruments is a multibillion dollar corporation that does not
need to stick its neck out for bigfoot stories. After noting more than
150 replications, they recently concluded that with so much evidence of
anomalous heat generation...

Conclusion
THERE IS AN UNKNOWN PHYSICAL EVENT
All the results I have ever seen are in the general area of noise.
***That’s probably your own selection bias, seeing what you want to see.
Have you read Beaudette’s book?
“Excess Heat-Why Cold Fusion Research Prevailed” by Charles G. Beaudette.
Why is this here? It should be deleted.
Why is that? Are you simply anti-Science?
You never really get to zero though. Food for thought.
Yeah, but you can often make money on the design without getting all the way to zero.
You are addressing a professional mathematician and retired tax accountant.
I can tell by the arrogant tone of your reply that you are young and conceited and still wet behind the ears. My advice to you: speak respectfully to people senior to you who have more real world experience and have more time here on Free Republic than you have out of the baby carriage.
And I wish you a Merry Christmas despite your insults.
I couldn't agree with you more. Kevmo's been spamming this crud on FR for many years and getting away with it. At least now he has to put it in chat or the smokey back room.
He's insulted almost everybody. Don't take it personally.
If you can make it for another year or so, I think it (practicality/repeatbility) will be very much a reality.
