Actor and self-described "noted Englishman" Gary Oldman appeared in a segment on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on Wednesday night to share a Thanksgiving message with Americans: "You're hurting our feelings" with your "big fat food orgy."

That “Dracula” he did is one of the worst films ever made. Well, perhaps Kenneth Branagh’s “Frankenstein” comes close.
The war of 1812 seems to have wrecked quite a few British military careers in the process. The people in Canada and Great Britain did not look favorably upon Henry Proctor over the slaughter of wounded captives at Frenchtown.
The Americans expected a certain degree of humanity from the Brits so they surrendered their wounded so they would get care. Instead Proctor took his troops and returned to Canada leaving the wounded in the care of the indians who proceeded to slaughter them in their beds.
It naturally enraged the Americans and I’ve read that it drew attention to an area of operations that had been largely ignored and the British were routed.
Yeah, that one was a stinker, though I don’t think Oldman’s acting was the problem. Hard to believe that film was by the same director who gave us The Godfather.
I thought he was excellent in his next movie after that, True Romance, as a dreadlocked white drug dealer who thinks he’s black. He was great in Sid and Nancy, and did a fine job as James Gordon in the Dark Knight series, among many.
It helps of you don’t label it “rat pie”. Meat pie sounds more palatable, if ambiguous. Don’t think about it, just eat.
I apologize. I thought he was insulting the United States.
Well, I don’t take a comedy bit that seriously. I doubt he wrote it, and it seems to be poking fun at the relationship between Brits and Americans to me. Not that it matters as to whether he can act or not.
AJ was indeed a man who could hold a grudge. However, the Cherokee and other tribes fought on the American side, and they were equally cleansed eventually.
Just finished a book about Lewis and Clark, Aaron Burr and what was going on at this time.
Quoted letters from President Jefferson to his negotiators with the tribes. Makes it utterly clear that Jefferson and his group never had the slightest intention of maintaining treaties with Indians. In an intensely dishonest way, the treaties were intended to keep the tribes quiet for a few years till it because more convenient to break the treaties and dispossess them.
It appears the Federalists under Washington and Adams had intentions to establish permanent treaties intended to be honored, but doing so apparently never crossed the minds of the Democrat/Republicans.
You ever been there? It's debatable.
I like Oldman too. Bill Nighy is also a very good actor.
You know, when somebody apologizes, the gracious thing to do is to accept it or at least keep your yap shut. I take back my apology. Gary Oldman really puts the ham into Hamlet. I haven’t seen acting like his since I watched little Pete down the street play a tree in his kindergarten production of EAT YOUR VEGETABLES.
A closet conservative you say? That’s interesting, and he’s a good actor as far as they go. The only “out of the closet” conservatives in Hollywood either don’t get jobs or are famous enough that they can’t be black listed. But a conservative in Hollywood could also mean that they’re just slightly to the right of Joseph Stalin.
Britain produces better actors than the USA.
Oldman hurt my feelings by being part of the disastrous “Lost in Space” movie in 1998.
Why is it that poor people never protest Thanksgiving? The only ones who protest it are the douchbags with the most to be thankful about.
He was a good evildoer in Book of Eli.
is this a joke?
