"On the morning of November 8, 1942, a force of over 70,000 American and British soldiers went ashore on the coast of Vichy French North-West Africa, and a period of close Anglo-American co-operation began. Altogether over 500 ships had carried and guarded the assault force: 102 of them crossing the Atlantic from America; the remainder sailing in two convoys - one fast and one slow - from Britain. They all arrived at their destinations within a few hours of each other and a pattern of smooth timing and organisation had been set."
December 1941. Though the press supports America's going to war against Japan after Pearl Harbor, several editorials want to know why we didn't prevent the attack by selling Japan more oil. Others criticize us for going to war with two nations that had never attacked us, Germany and Italy.
I bet Humphrey Bogart was glad to see those guys show up:)Casablanca.
Yep. Americans and Frenchmen killing each other in the 1940s.
I’ve read a lot about WW2 and Patton this year.
I suspect in 2013 he would never be accepted to West Point.
By then, Eisenhower had his 4th as a full General.
If Patton made it thru West Point, he would have been kicked out of the army for either swearing or killing enemy solders
