Tom Hanks is a talented actor (that's someone who can memorize at least one paragraph of dialog written by another).
Unfortunately, he is also another Hollywood Obama worshiper, albeit a relatively quiet one, who, along with Spielberg and several others, grasp the financial rewards for positive portrayals of the United States military. Projects such as "Saving Private Ryan", "Band of Brothers" and now this new one.
How sadly hypocritical that these Hollywood types continue to support politicians out here in the real world like the Clintons, Obama, most of the radical left crew from the Left Coast (Algore, Pelosi, Waxman, Boxer, Feinstein, George Miller, etc.) who, at their cores, disdain those same military men and women upon whose backs and lives these creatures profit.
It's just me but I've decided to consciously AVOID the films and other projects put forth by these folks.

She could go see it alone, and she has done that, but she (and I) are trying to figure out ways to do more with each other, and I have to think "Would it have killed me just to agree to go?"
I know this stuff seems silly to some people, but lately this type of thing has become a real burr under my saddle.
I am an inveterate cold cereal eater in the morning. It is just what I do. And I like the junky ones. Cocoa Puffs. Sugar Smacks. Honeycombs. Lucky Charms. I can't get right in the morning until I have had a bowl of cereal while Freeping, and a nice hot shower.
But it is really the cereal.
A few months ago, a story popped up about General Mills (This is from the National Review):
"...General Mills is celebrating gay-pride month with one of its most famous breakfast cereals. The Huffington Post reports that the Minnesota food conglomerate is bringing Lucky Charms out of the closet.
The new campaign centers around the leprechaun-loving toasted-oat-and-marshmallow cereal and uses the handle #LuckyToBe. General Mills announced the campaign in the video above and in a press release sent to homosexual lobbying group GLAAD, in which the company declared, “We’re celebrating Pride month with whimsical delight, magical charms, and two new rainbow marshmallows. . . . If you’re lucky enough to be different, we’re celebrating you.”
Of course, General Mills has long been a nemesis of activists concerned about childhood obesity; no word yet on whether the #LuckyToBe campaign will prove sufficient to charm Michelle Obama. But who knows? Given President Obama’s own “evolution” on homosexual marriage, perhaps the magically delicious cereal will soon be standard fare at the White House breakfast table..."
I was so disgusted that I cannot knowingly buy any General Mills products. And that angers me. I know it is only a breakfast cereal, but these types of stories feel like they are encumbering my outlook on some aspects of life the way barnacles encumber a ship. It is a product here, an actor there, a song in another case, and even some people that I had once respected in my life in some way.
I wish this principle wasn't as strong with me as it is. I wish I could put it aside like some folks.
My wife and I are boycotting any movies or TV shows with actors that support Obama, homosexuality, Christian bashing, use of the words, GD, or any other liberal / socialist issues.
Crew members: ‘Captain Phillips’ is one big lie
It’s made for Hollywood: the story of an average American family man, captain of a cargo ship in dangerous waters, his vessel overtaken by armed Somali pirates demanding ransom, saving his crew by allowing himself to be removed from the boat and taken hostage.
All of this is the basis for “Captain Phillips,” starring Tom Hanks as the titular, real-life hero. The only problem, say some members of the real Capt. Phillips’ crew, is none of it is true.
Capt. Richard Phillips, they say, is no hero, and the film is one big lie.
Didn’t watch it, but no mention of the $30,000.00 that Phillips gave to the pirates. The money was never located and they don’t believe it was thrown overboard.

GO INTO A MULTI SHOW CINEMA AND BUY A TICKET OTHER THAN THE ONE WITH THE LIB IN IT THEN SIMPLY GO TO THE ONE YOU WANT....

I would love to go to the movies again..my problem with Hanks and others like him is that I can’t anymore seperate WHO he really is from the character in the movie.
It was smarter of the old style Movie corproations when they kept their ‘stars’ under wraps.
There are plenty of things you & your wife can do for some together time that won’t violate principles. Have a bowling night. Go to a restaurant owned by a conservative. Even buy a book by a conservative author to read together. It may take a little thought, depending on your area, but it can be done.

that’s what I’ve heard too. I don’t pay any attention to performers opinions, and certainly don’t allow them to influence what I do.
Oddly enough, when many people receive medals of valor they often never tell their tale.
This is often because what happened is open to lots of interpretation.
The glorified version is always the version that makes it int the movies.
I am so sick of films that are dependent on special effects.
I thought Avatar sucked.
I just want to see some good acting and a good plot.

That’s the way I am also. I wish they would just shut up and keep their politics to themselves. Just do what they do. They shouldn’t allow themselves to be used as tools by corrupt and crooked politicians both at home and abroad. Unfortunately, the politicians know that low to no intelligence idiot voters are easily dazzled by celebrities. There are many, many actors and entertainers that I refuse to spend a penny on.
