MidUtahRadio ^ | Oct. 18, 2013 | Kathy Farnsworth

The long-running game show “Jeopardy” featured an entire category on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints last night. The category was popular as it was the first one chosen in the round. The “answers” in the category included missionaries, the Tabernacle, Marion Romney, Joseph Smith and Deseret Industries. Every contestant who was asked a question got it right.

(Can’t believe that the Mormons would build a temple on land they don’t own..just to fulfill Joseph Smith’s prophesy...oh, wait...I guess they won’t...meaning the prophesy is like all of his other ones, false)

Q: “Are you free to express your doubts about Mormonism with friends or family of your Bishop?”

A: “ doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith.” (actual quote by an LDS apostle this last conference).

Q. What did Joseph Smith not use to "translate" the Book of Mormon?

A. Magic rock in a hat.

I’m not sure where you get Mormonism completely ignoring Jesus, Colofornian. Nothing could be further from the truth there.

Jesus Christ is the reason for Mormonism, and without Him there would be nothing to our faith.

Best wishes,

Normandy

You were not paying attention if you think Romney would have been any better. He ran to the LEFT of Ted Kennedy in MA.

15 percent is being generous. The activity rate in the US is only about 50%, and only 25% outside of the US and of those only 10% get temple recommends so you are looking at about 5% or less who get to learn the secret handshakes that will let them into the presence of God.

//Mormonism, though, doesn’t destroy man’s freedom here and now//

Actually it does. Are you familiar with the amount of control and manipulation Mormons are put through? Or how they treat those who leave?

Wake up.

I am aware people are free to leave Mormonism and who have left it who are not being targeted for assassination...unlike Marxist turncoats.

Seriously, I am amazed someone has to defend religious liberty against MARXISM on a conservative forum. Especially a religious group I have ALREADY indicated I believe is unorthodox.

Nuts.

The Council of Trent condemned all Protestants. Rome has never repudiated that ruling. But I don’t fear CATHOLIC candidates or nominees.

Reminds me of an old boss of mine. He was getting along in years and was planning his post retirement career as a financial planner back in Provo.

He knew where the real money was to be had. Why is it most ethnic and religious groups prey on their own kind?

Jesus Christ is the reason for Mormonism, and without Him there would be nothing to our faith.

Hey, Norm...good to hear from you.

If this was the case (as you claim), then please explain this quote of Joseph Smith's:

"God is in the still small voice. In all these affidavits, indictments, it is all of the devil--all corruption. Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet . . . " (History of the Church, vol. 6, p. 408-409). Smith quote in context

You see, Normandy...
...Joseph Smith contrasts...
..."the followers of Jesus" vs...
...his own followers in that last phrase ("never ran away from ME")

To hear Joseph Smith tell it,
Jesus of Nazareth was 0-for-1 at the plate being able to "keep a whole church together" [Joseph DID NOT say Jesus was 1-for-2 at the plate...having been "successful" in a second bid]...
...whereas Joseph says he himself was the LONE one church-togetherness wise.

It's Joseph Smith's church, Normandy...otherwise Smith would have given the credit to Jesus Christ for being able to keep the Mormon church together...he didn't...

Mormon Church's own History of the Church, vol. 6, pp. 408-409 proves it. No Mormon can erase such quotes from history.

(Furthermore, when we look at the "official" "First Vision" of Joseph Smith -- as laid out in the Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith History -- "Jesus" or "Christ" is NOWHERE id'd there as the One who appeared to Smith...That entity is nameless)

But wait one cottin' pickin' pre-existent minute!

Mormon theology...Mormon "history"...
...teaches we were ALL born as spirits on a planet near Kolob...
...before we came to this planet to inhabit bodies...
...Therefore, Joey Smith, Bring'em Rather Young, and Smutt Romney (Mariott porn industry board member) may have all been in one of the rooms of your pre-existent "house"...
...can't say it was the kitchen, tho...
...(I mean, what can pure spirits eat, after all?)

They aren’t killed anymore, they do lose their jobs, their BYU credits if they haven’t graduated, their homes, their friends and their families. Many do lose their lives because they commit suicide because of the demands of Mormonism or the loss of leaving (Utah is one of the highest rates of suicide in the country). They are more than unorthodox, they are dangerous.

And NO one here is defending Marxism that is just your strawman
