Woman Says She Called 911 for an Ambulance for Her Fiancé, Cops Came and Shot Him Instead

Jack Lamar Roberson was shot and killed by police in his home on Friday afternoon in Waycross, Georgia. According to local TV station First Coast News, his fiancée Alcia Herron called 911 for an ambulance after becoming worried about diabetes medication Roberson had taken. Cops claim Roberson was brandishing two weapons (not identified by police, though the mayor said he was told it was a knife) and came toward them “aggressively armed”. Police also say they were informed Roberson had attempted to commit suicide and was being combative while on their way to his residence. His mother and his fiancée both witnessed the shooting, and their 8-year-old daughter was apparently in the home too.

Roberson’s mother said the family didn’t own “two decent knives” while his fiancée described the incident to First Coast News:

"He didn't have nothing in his hands at any time or period at all before they came, any time while they were here, anything. They just came in and shot him. He didn't say nothing, the police didn't say nothing, anything, it was like a silent movie. You couldn't hear anything, all you could hear were the gun shots go off and I seen them going into his body and he just fell down," cried Alcia Herron, Roberson's fiance.

Herron told the Florida Times-Union she became afraid for Roberson, believing he may have taken too much diabetes medication, though did not appear to provide more details anywhere. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the shooting and the officers involved are on paid leave.

Just shooting the diabetics non-government employees won't shoot?

Meet the “Death panels”?

Good news, Comrades! That’s one diabetic who your tax money will never have to treat.

(Do I really need a sarc?)

A new Obamacare policy to keep expenses down.

That's one way of reducing the cost of 0bamacare - just shoot and kill all who are chronically ill.

Some diabetes meds mess with your brain. I take one that causes nightmares. Others can cause hallucinations.

I should think police would know a little about meds and their possible side effects, but I guess they leave that training to the paramedics.

About 4 years ago I went to a shooting class they advertised as being used by Portland, OR police.
They showed videos of armed criminals and we were graded on our response.

The sick one was one man, on the ground 20 feet from me holding a knife.
As I am an excellent shot, I just held fire and just waited for him to drop the knife.

I waited and waited and was told the correct response was to shoot him. I was shocked.

There's no situation that can't be made worse by calling 911.

No, no, no!

Those are the death SQUADS.

The death PANELS are far away in a remote IRS office building.

You have a high expectation, considering: Court OKs Barring Smart People From Becoming Cops (Really)

The PTB don't WANT cops smart enough to use common sense, much less smart enough to reason that the man's diabetes requires medical treatment.

Another crying shame — weren’t situations like this why the taser was invented? Police today too easily let themselves slip into being judge/jury/executioner rather than rescuing hero. And courts dare not question such crying shames. Is anyone awake at the wheel any more?

My mistake.

I will report myself for shamefully using a misnomer; I should have said “Meet our glorious Death Squads”.

Clearly, I am in need of re-education.

(Do I really need a sarc tag?)

My grandmother always told me to never, ever call the police or any government agency for anything. Ever. Your life will just go downhill from there.

She also said "Nothing good happens after midnight, so be home by eleven". As a teen she also told me that if I ever drank alchohol and faced driving myself or in a car with anyone else who had been drinking, that I was to call her for a ride. No questions asked.

No elbows on the table. Eat what you shoot. Never go to bars. Cocktail hour is for the neighbors, and should stretch for several hours. Then dinner. That rule made for some fun relationships all up and down the block, with young and old alike. Kids playing kick the can, baseball, street hockey, skateboarding, bike riding, while the adult neighbors drank cocktails and socialized taught us how to consume alchohol in a responsible manner.

In a sense the “We The People” of this existing structure of government allowed it. All have shared in the hate — yes, it is hate — that paved the way for such deterioration of honor and, yes, love (we’d call it chivalry in this particular situation).

The answer is not in us ourselves. We are bankrupt of such virtue. The answer as it always was, though we were too proud to admit it, is in God — and serious outreach to heaven is needed.

“just shoot and kill all who are chronically ill.”

We can do some math —

1.6 billion rounds divided by 314 million population = 5 rounds per [too few rounds, based on recent cop shooting performance].

But maybe only half are ‘too sick’ => 10 rounds per.

10 rounds per times [estimated] $0.30 per round = $3.00 for each ‘medical problem solved’

Compare that with ACA fees .... and take path of least cost.

And, that $3.00 could probably be deducted (taxed) by the IRS from your estate’s tax bill.

NEVER call the police for anything, ever. Stay as far away from them if you can. They are mostly a gang of thugs, and all citizens are their enemies. And your pets will become entertaining target practice for them, and you too if you miss a command.

Well, all people should come to help all other people (if possible). In extreme cases (defense of others) we might have to help them off of this mortal coil. But that is not a preferable, first choice. The degree of ease of it becoming a choice reflects the degree of hate we have in us.

Others can cause hallucinations.

I had one of those.

I didn't find it particularly objectionable, but my doctor took me off of them anyway.

No sense of humor, that one.
