Sources within the Department of Transportation have revealed that their plan to use National Guard resources to close federally funded Interstate Route 495, circling the nations capital, have been approved by unknown White House officials and will be implemented on Friday morning, October 11, in order to thwart the three day Trucker slowdown announced on the Capitol Beltway starting that date, using the federal government shutdown as justification.

DoT has no authority to use the National Guard for anything.
The National Guard is totally under the control of the Governor (in this case, the separate governors of MD, VA, and DC, with DC being a bit different).
DoT can not order them nor could it pay for them under current shutdown.
Somebody needs to do a little research before they post these things.
He's a full-blown, power mad sociopath and he makes up the rules as he goes along.
He truly believes he's invincible and smarter than everyone else.
Stupid never enter his mind. He'd rather shut them out, than deal with the "display."
If Bush were in power, the outrage would be non-stop. Here the press just yawns.
True.
Plus these folks are citizen soldiers.
Don’t cha think they’d raise a ruckus and let a LOT of folks know?
Plus this sort of event take a good bit of pre-logistics.
I smell agitprop.
Since Interstate 495 is clearly a federal roadway, report our DOT sources, and the federal government is now closed because of the crazy House of Representatives Republicans,
The mark of excellent satire is that it's just close enough to reality to be indistinguishable from the real thing. Well played.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
But there’s a roadblock up on the cloverleaf,
And them bears was wall-to-wall.
Yeah, them smokies was thick as bugs on a bumper;
They even had a bear in the air!
I says, “Callin’ all trucks, this here’s the Duck.
“We about to go a-huntin’ bear.”
‘Cause we got a great big convoy
Rockin’ through the night.
Yeah, we got a great big convoy,
Ain’t she a beautiful sight?
Come on and join our convoy
Ain’t nothin’ gonna get in our way.
We gonna roll this truckin’ convoy
‘Cross the U-S-A.
Thanks ... I know in the day Union Pacific’s subsidiary trucking company was non-union but wasn’t sure how much influence the Teamsters had these days.
The libs are already howling over the truckers on some boards, unlike their support and admiration for OWS. Such hypocrites they are.
How? The MSM will portray this as "Congress'" fault and the Republican's fault.
The 80 percent of America which follows national and international events passively will suck up this view, and lean further against the House Republicans.
Hmmm... D.C. is not a state.
Now what?
Why would 0bama be worried about the truckers? According to the news media, everyone LOVES King Barry! I wonder if 0bama will send out an all black female National Guard unit with Trayvon T-Shirts on?
Am I off base by thinking that Obama is designing responses and actions in the hope that the right will start some violence? Where is the “occupy” movement? Why aren’t they out on the streets?
What do the State of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia have to say about this? It is their States and their National Guards.
What’s the End Game here? Will Soeotoro give the order for the National Guard to shoot any trespassers on to I-495? How about trespassers at Old Faithful - shoot these people, too?
The whole Administration should be arrested.
So... They’re going to thwart the trucker slowdown by completely shutting down I-495.
Hello? There’s no room in DC for a brain, is there.
Liberal logic. It’s a hoot!
Satire/BS ping.
I don’t think they’re as fearful of civil disobedience or resistance as they are
outraged
by it.
How DARE they!
Close 495? That would be insane. It would really bring the DC metro area to a halt along with I-95 traffic along the entire East coast.
The TRASH holding office in the White House are frightened. Good for the truckers.
