Adventurers have stumbled across a cave so enormous that it has its own weather system, complete with wispy clouds and lingering fog inside vast caverns. A team of expert cavers and photographers have been exploring the vast cave system in the Chongquing province of China and have taken the first-ever photographs of the natural wonder.
They were amazed to discover the entrance to the hidden Er Wang Dong cave system and were stunned when they managed to climb inside to see a space so large that it can contain a cloud.

O. M. Gosh!
I am stuned and amazed! Visiting a place like that may render my claustrophobia neutral! What amazing pics! Thanks for the ping!
We were in Fremont CA for a few years, and as the late Igor was retired Navy, we had commissary privileges. We could choose between Alameda NAS and Moffat Field, and we were democratic...we went to both, just because we could!
One day, before our commissary trip, we decided to tour The Hangar at Moffat Field. My son was about 12, and he was a feisty little guy, but when we walked into The Hangar and saw a hot air balloon at the other end still going up, the railroad tracks going on forever and the ceiling so VERY far above his head, he immediately took my hand and let out a little moan.
I looked at him, put my arms around his skinny little shoulders, and told him it was OK...there ARE big things in the world!
The kids both got B&R Ice Cream THAT day! LOL!
That series of caverns making up the enormous cave is simply amazing! Thanks for posting. Great pictures at the link, too!
Thank you for the pings, gentlemen.
My God!
It’s full of silt!
So...now that humans have set foot in it, will its weather system be destroyed by caval warming?
Another team of intrepid explorers having acquired a much improved flying craft followed the identical route but instead were heard to have been calling out “Mike Hunt, Mike Hunt” until the radio went dead, were found months later deep inside a narrow passage way, lodged in-between two passage way walls.
Isnt that how Wooopie Goldbergs ex describe hedr?
It’s ruined ..... RUINED I tell you!
And he didn’t expect anyone to consider that might be a reflection on *him*?
;D
I wonder if that cat knows he’s famous.
I wonder if that last sentence should have had a question mark instead of a period?
Was I in error then? Or the other time?
Or now.
That poor cat is a mutant genetic train wreck.
It disgusts me that he’s being used for fame and money.
These caves are are large as the caves in the science fiction caves in the Lord of the rings. I don’t see any signs of past civilizations in there which seems odd to me it would be a fantastic place to avoid out side trouble.
That cave photo looks like it’s straight out of Hustler.
(It just has to be said whenever she shows up)
Finally a cave I can visit without feeling claustrophobic ........... maybe.....
a cave so enormous that it has its own weather systemHeh, reminds me of a girl I once knew.
