Katie Holmes might have distanced herself from the Church of Scientology, but few could doubt her dedication to egg-based sauces, as was shown this week with her becoming the face of Hellmann’s Mayonnaise.
The actress posed next to a massive cake shaped like a Hellmann’s jar at the company’s 100th birthday on Pier 84 in New York.
Going a little off message, Holmes told USA Today about the non-mayonnaise-centric dishes she likes to cook, saying she ‘flourishes at pancakes.’
‘I love food. I’m working on being a better cook,’ she explained. ‘I flourish at pancakes. I do sea bass, too.

The fun didn’t stop at Katie Holmes leaning gingerly on a table however, with Hellmann’s also breaking the Guinness World Record for longest picnic table at the event, which now stands at 320ft.
The Batman Begins actress may have picked up her PR expertise from ex-husband Tom Cruise, who was previously seen running along the Great Wall of China for some reason.

Dom Delouise is trying to lose weight and has some "urges" so he calls his support group. One by one, they start to discuss the foods that make them the weakest. The camera cuts to the kitchen and all the cupboards are in chains and locks to help Dom stay on his diet. They continue to talk, one-upping each other's weakeness.
The next scene is of the kitchen - DESTROYED! And all the guys with food all over their faces, bloated.
Back when female screen stars looked like stars. Or as my dad used to say (a WW2 vet), “That’s what we were fighting for!”

Duke’s mayonnaise. Where do you buy it? is it a regional brand?
My Mom’s depression spaghetti was simply Spaghetti Noodles with Butter.
The problem was, they usually could only afford Margarine. It had a packet of food color included that you had to mix in with it to make it yellow. I can’t imagine how horrible that must have tasted back then.
That’s why my Mother never ate any Margarine when I was growing up. She loved Butter and that’s all she would ever serve us. It’s amazing that I was a skinny kid.
Heck, she used to give me Extra Rich Milk that you can’t even buy anymore. It was probably half and half, but it was delicious, especially with Hershey’s Chocolate Syrup. Yum.
My arteries are clogging up just thinking about it.
I’ve made mayo in a regular blender. Also in a bowl with a stick blender. I have a recipe for mayo made with a combination of coconut oil and a good grade of extra-virgin olive oil.
I’m from Ney York, here’s the Rule:
Mustard on Hot Dogs, Ketchup on Hamburgers. Doing the opposite is blasphemy.
For me, add Mayo ON BOTH!

The Portillos made their bones from not Portillos, but Browns Chicken. I met the kid once (Tony Portillo) at a fundraiser, and he came across as a complete spoiled brat ass-hat (he’s about 20 years younger than I, and was a very showmanship like wealthy kid).
Anyways, back in my day, when we walked uphill both ways, the Eyetalians from Elmwood Park or Cicero would wear those white satin jackets that proudly proclaimed ITALY on them. But they pronounced it Eyetalian. I would ask them if they were form Eyetaly, and they would look at me like I had squids coming out of my ears.
Also, they all wore those gold dog penis necklaces.
Well, so we harassed them about it, because it was fun to do. Stone Park or Elmwood Park used to be a good place to rile them up and maybe get into a tussle.
Yeah, I was a trouble making youth :)
But back to hot-dogs, Plush Pup is on Manheim and Algonquin road so to speak. About 2 doors south of Algonquin. Best dog’s I’ve ever had. Pop Snap on the skin when you bite into it, great flavor, and they load em up right, I mean, it’s a perfect blend when you ask for one “loaded”. Not just thrown on, it’s pure craftsmanship.
Boobies used to make a good dog years ago, but either my taste buds got refined or they started to suck. Not sure.
My dad told me about this, I think he called it oleol or something like that. Other freepers will know the exact name.
Oh, and you know your right about Gene and Judes, they are the greasiest fries in the world, I mean soaking in grease, piled on top of your dog.
Bleh.
I guess some people dig em, not me. It’s the White Castle of hot dogs. I’ll pass.
I almost forgot to add, there was a place down the street from Gene and Jude’s called the Thirsty Whale. I had been there a few times, and that’s were I was introduced to their pompous ass hot dogs and greasy fries.

Bill Veck was the best. He used to sit in the bleachers with us common folk and cheer on the WS. God Bless his soul.
I sometimes do. I’ve also added whey collected from the top of yogurt. It’s supposed to make it last longer.
Craving for such oily combos could indicate a metabolic dysfunction. Diabetes or other issues could be latent. I have seen dialysis patients crave the same type of sandwiches.
What’s wrong with ketchup on hotdogs? I thought everyone did that heh.
Duke’s is made by C.F. Sauer in Richmond, VA. I know it’s a Southern brand, but maybe they have some distribution in other areas? You could probably check Sauer’s website.
I live in NC and it’s what I grew up with. I seem to recall that they have never changed the recipe since it was first sold. It’s sheer heaven on a BLT! I also like putting it on tomato sandwiches in the summer, when my garden is in full swing. :)
Forget Katie Holmes — the REAL face of Hellmann’s Mayonnaise is Debbie Wasserman Schultz!!
I hate mayonnaise worse than anything...it’s the vilest concoction ever created.
