Ice, especially cold ice with a coating of snow, has a coefficient of friction well above zer0.
(I used to be paid while driving on ice a few days/nights a year.)

They have something called “black ice” in Alaska which leads to brown stains on the driver’s seat.

"Talented drivers, to say the least."
Just another overnight success (after years of hard work).

Though the coefficient of friction never gets to zer0, it can easily be below what you need (and want).
The worst is when the surface temp is near freezing.

They have that where ever there is freezing rain and night and the staining effect is the same everywhere.

Story line, filming, editing, music, talented drivers ... ... just a plain ol' enjoyable 3 minutes to watch.

Mitsubishi Outlanders with AWD (both). One with studded tires, the other without. My 2004 is surefooted like a mule. Best vehicle I've ever driven for control in heavy rain, ice, or snow. Tires, however, are everything no matter what you drive.

The skaters are beautiful. The cars scare the living daylights out of me!
