Home phone. Why we still have one; I don't know. If it rings while we're home - we ignore it and let it go to the machine. I never ever even check the ansering machine, but Mrs. R2 does. And this weekend she told me that the Census Bureau jas been calling and leaving messages. They want a call back.
(Insert suspicious red flags going up here)
Anyway the call back number is 1-888-817-2153 and I have a case number. And no, I haven't returned that call. And yes, I Googled it. It is the Census Bureau and there are plenty of links to discussion groups buzzing about why would the Census Bureau be calling and what do they want now.
Naturally I didn't fill out the formal census in 2010. I was able to dodge the field agent for a time, but I was finally cornered one day and I do remember giving out some basics. Now it appears they want more.
And since I'm Christian, conservative, white and other labels that have put me on the gubmint's terrorist watch list; I don't intend to cooperate any more than I have to.
> But this is not the Census. It is that weirdly intrusive American Community Survey. Why give them the data they need for social engineering projects like forcibly diversifying your neighborhood?
Agenda 21 style
They want to make sure you have been counted?..............
Can you point to single soul who has ever been prosecuted for telling them to stuff it?
The Census every 10 years is “mandatory”, the ACS is just crap
People who know me and have to contact me call my cell. The other nuisances can keep calling my home phone all they want. They won't get me.
We got one of those, don’t remember when. Hubby round filed it and we never heard from them again. On the regular census he puts names and ages. That is it.
They must not like us since they never bother us.
“Answer de phone and say bueno”
Or gibberish!
“Is this the place I have received? No?” And so on.
Did taking money from the fedgov in return for your helping with the census color your viewpoint on the legitimacy of it?
Just curious.
I wouldn’t read too much into it but that is really weird. Like many have said, I’d ignore them . . . and dump that land line. =)
I got the community something or other form that asks for a lot more info. I didn’t open it; put Refused on the envelope and sent it back. I kept getting phone calls for several months, which I ignored; and then nothing.... this was over a year ago.
No, if you answer in Spanish they’ll switch over in a heartbeat.
Answer with “Privyet! Kto eta? Ne ponimayu angliski!”
(Russian, for those of you in Rio Linda)
If they want to make me the first-ever guy prosecuted for refusing I’ll tell them to “go ahead, make Sean Hannity’s day”.
Actually I'd take that deal........
Plenty of opps to get back....
Ha!!
I will assert my “Lois Lerner rights”.
So now am I going to have to look for the “beaver free” label on vanilla? Or a label that says, “no beavers were harmed during extraction”?
I reported that I was an atheist American gay disabled and abused black woman that was on public assistance who does not support the Pledge of Allegience, and whose baby daddy does not pay support for the chillins.
I have yet to see any aid sent to me.
They wanted to see proof of my citizenship...
The 55MPH limit on interstates and other such roads was not federal law.
The feds never made that a law, they simply said, “Fine, you want a speed limit over 55MPH, okay, then we will withhold all those federal highway funds.”
Coercion, not law.
One of the recorded messages I got was a small childs voice,...Obama?
“Btw, the constitution says nothing about a speed limit but there are laws against speeding.”
A case can be made we never gave the Federal Government ANY authority to regulate speed.
There are millions of things not in the Constitution and if we had honest politicians and lawyers (impossible I know) only those things we decide to allow the Fed to do are legal. If we do not agree and the Constitution is silent WE THE PEOPLE still have authority.
Unfortunately, the bastards in our education system have creating this concept of Case Law to give government powers they were never entitled to by legislation.
I just got this GIANT 28 page form from the Government "American Community Survey" - (Vanity)
