There’s no student loan forgiveness program for mothers who raise their own children, but there is for some daycare workers; and student loan forgiveness may be yours if you work for the government in some capacity, but not if you earn a low salary in the private sector.

The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is trying to make it easier for people in certain jobs—teachers, nurses, social workers, police and firefighters, and federal, state and local government workers—to understand the route to student loan forgiveness.

On Wednesday, the CFPB released a “toolkit” to “empower” school districts and other public service organizations to help their employees understand how they can pay off their student loans or have them forgiven. That toolkit asks employers to pledge that they will talk to their workers about student debt, help them understand their options, and assist them in enrolling in student-loan repayment benefits. …

Yes they do.

As it sits, there is no way to discharge student loan debt via bankruptcy. Which, if you think about it a little, is the only way the system can work.

The end game in all of this is that Obama is going to destroy the student loan system that enables non wealthy students in financial a way to get a college education.

Not tha the wealthy who don’t need the loans or the scum bags that have abused the system by taking on enormous debt but have already graduated from college and now want to erase the $150,000 debt they incurred partying their way through the best 6 years of their life to get a Degree in Womyn’s Studies or Queer Theory

Why would you not realize that with a generalized statement, of course there are exceptions?

The point is the program is going to be used to forgive loans of people who earned worthless degrees. They are only saying “firefighters, nurses” because they want to make it appear that these are the people that NEED the help - these are marketable people that will get jobs and so can repay THEIR LOANS. What it will be used for are all the ones who got the black history degrees and english degrees and lesbian studies degrees. This is just back door welfare for these folks.

And you know this, this is what this guy does.

They will not only serve the government but vote for whomever offers them more loan forgiveness. Once the USG took over the loan program, it obtained huge leverage and political power.

Plan calls for my wife’s college loan to be forgiven if the worked in the public sector, not the private sector?

Oh... I see the benefits in the public sector must be soooo bad that they had to up the ante about a thousand notches.

Yes, I appreciate what most of our public sector / public servant employees do. They should be paid a market rate. Anything beyond market rate and she should be replaced with private sector employees. Why... BECAUSE IT IS OUR OWN DAMN MONEY THEY’RE SPENDING.

“Student loans are money lent to students by banks so those students can pursue higher education.”

Not anymore. I thought that they were shifted to all federal funded and that the banks were eliminated.

The first requirement for student loan forgiveness is that you must be a registered Democrat. The second is you must make a healthy donation directly to King Zero.
