Government Urging 25% of U.S. Workforce to Strive for Student Loan Forgiveness

There’s no student loan forgiveness program for mothers who raise their own children, but there is for some daycare workers; and student loan forgiveness may be yours if you work for the government in some capacity, but not if you earn a low salary in the private sector.

The federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is trying to make it easier for people in certain jobs—teachers, nurses, social workers, police and firefighters, and federal, state and local government workers—to understand the route to student loan forgiveness.

On Wednesday, the CFPB released a “toolkit” to “empower” school districts and other public service organizations to help their employees understand how they can pay off their student loans or have them forgiven. That toolkit asks employers to pledge that they will talk to their workers about student debt, help them understand their options, and assist them in enrolling in student-loan repayment benefits. …

I knew this was one of O’s plans from early on.

Make it easy (but therefor expensive, because you increase demand) to get a college education, place the students under such a debt load that they are indentured servants, and have them serve the government.

There must be some way to inject a plan like this into the housing market. /S

Student loan forgiveness == free education through the back door

And they’ll still have learned nothing and have worthless, overpriced degrees that won’t get them anywhere.

“student loan forgiveness”

In other words, steal. Get an expensive education at a top school and then skate on paying the bill, while others get a modest education at an average school because they were responsible and lived within their means? Even if both have their debt forgiven who benefits most? The reckless and irresponsible. Is that the new America?

People know the debt they are incurring. Pay your own damn bill.

And of course so many of the degrees are useless. On Jay Leno last night there was a black woman with a degree in black history.

Jay asked her if Louis Armstrong was an astronaut, a failed tour de France rider or a musician.

She replied that he was an astronaut and walked on the moon.

He should have asked if he was an astronaut on farrakhan’s mother ship.

I know you’re an expert on college education, but here’s my experience. Some people benefit greatly from a college education.

Our son, after discharging from the marines, got his degree in math at UCLA. He used his military money, 3 student loans and worked 30+ hours a week through college. He has been paying down his loans and just paid the highest one off. He’ll have the others paid off within 24 months.

More importantly, to your point, he uses his education constantly on the job.

Just another idiot scamming the taxpayers, I guess?

Ain’t OBAMANATION great?

BTW, B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, could never have succeeded so quickly with the help of his BFFs John “jellyfish spine” Boehner and “Continuing Financial Resolution” McConnell.

i guess for her, a black history degree meant being able to have a few interesting things to say while making fries with other black workers.

Good grief, HOW CAN A BLACK WOMAN NOT KNOW LOUIS ARMSTRONG WAS A MUSICIAN?!?! I’VE KNOWN THAT SINCE “Good Morning Vietnam!” or before.

There is no such thing as Student Loan forgiveness.

Student loans are money lent to students by banks so those students can pursue higher education.

These loans are guaranteed by US government so if the student defaults on the loans, the Government pays the balance of the loan to the bank so the taxpayer picks up the bill. It’s not free or forgiven, it’s just that the taxpayer pays for the student’s education instead of the student.

Working for the government gets one plent of “perks” at taxpayer expense. Soon, those workers won’t have to pay a cent for anything.

And then the treasury goes after the “student” via garnishments to collect that debt.

why would you assume your situation somehow is exactly the one I’m talking about? seriously? why would you think that a degree in math is one that falls under the “worthless degree” category? I mean really. Come on. The next person who responded with an example knew exactly what I was talking about.

Good grief. Your son is NOT at all the type I am talking about.

That’s right, so not only are the taxpayers paying the salaries, healthcare and pensions for gov’t employees now we will be paying for their college education.
