I have seen this running today on FOX and I think it's creepy. So you get a 'testing kit' and send it off to a lab??? To find out about myself?

Hannity has talked about it on his show.

I think it’s creepy that you would draw me to an advertisement. For no good reason.

I’ve done it for genealogical purposes at 3 places. I understand why some people might find it creepy though.

Not a shill. Just found it very creepy. I’ll be damned if I’m sending my DNA to some ‘entity’ for ANOTHER damned database.

Willingly giving a DNA sample with the intent of it being analyzed?
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?!?
I think I'll pass... but feel free to...

It’s good for people like me that were adopted and don’t know their genetic/family medical history.

I too have tested with 23andMe for genealogical purposes. They are a legitimate company with thousands of satisfied customers, including me. I haven’t seen the ad so I can’t speak to it.

We did a cheek swab/DNA test for our dog to see what breeds he was comprised of. Similar?

I am adopted as well.
I had the fortune to meet the biological parent, cousins, aunts, etc., contact was not established by me.
Although fascinating in an “heredity vs environment” context, I fail to see the point of knowing grandma had high blood pressure, or mom had cps.
Im living my life. Having a predisposition to anything has no place in it. Many things are “ in the blood” live well, live right, see your doctor once a year.
If your predisposed your predisposed,. Knowing it does not make it so, it just creates unnecessary worry. I've waited over 20 years for that high bp that runs in the bio family....no sight of it yet.

Although I think that such technology is interesting, I’m not interested in it at this time. My concern is that this company makes customers aware of possible errors, and the ramifications of such errors, in their findings.

It is a wise thing to do if there are inherited diseases in your family.

And like several studies have shown.. It does not matter in 99% of the situations in the world. And for most people knowing what their genes are as an absolute waste of the energy to even find out.
There are so many factors that affect a persons health and genes are but 1 in a million chance to be able to know what anyone might or might not have wrong. Besides genes there are switches that are different in everyone. Those switches can completely change what a gene may or may not do. Completely.
So just live your life and deal with what god gave you now. Make the best of today as you started it.
