On Thursday, CNNs Anderson Cooper interviewed Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker, stars of Oscar-bait The Butler. During the interview, in which Cooper thoughtfully nodded as Winfrey and Whitaker race-baited, Oprah suggested Emmitt Till and Trayvon Martin were equivalent symbols, and that Americans were racist even if they didnt have ill will toward black people. When Cooper cited polls showing that black Americans were upset about Trayvon Martin and whites thought too much had been made of the case, Oprah sighed, Oh, I know, I know. Thats why I love the film in light of this discussion is because it brings context to this discussion. I mean, look at the film, beginning with that lynching scene and ending with walking into Obamas office, look at what has happened in the span of one mans lifetime.

Cooper asked, Its amazing to me how people from different backgrounds see this. He then talked about a juror who did not understand, did not feel linked to Trayvon Martin, felt connected to George Zimmerman in a way, but not Trayvon Martin, she felt race was not part of this case at all. Oprah couldnt wait to jump in, blurting, People dont feel its race because people dont call it race
A lot of people think if they think theyre not using the n-word themselves, they physically arent using the n-word themselves, and do not harbor ill will towards black people that its not racist. But to me its ridiculous to look at that case and not to think that race was involved.

Let all your white fans see who you really are.
There is nothing to even talk about with someone like you.
Being black doesn’t mean you’re not racist either, Oprah.
It’s time for Oprah and her big mouth to retire. She needs to go home and spend more time with her money. She’s had such a tough life here in America.
Being rich doesn’t mean youre not stupid, either
Here it comes! Full bore!
Well Oprah, doesn’t that make the reverse also true?
Jesus Christ, I guess if you're white you're wrong with your first breath...
Not liking the big Os (Oprah or Obama) makes you “RACIST!!!” in the minds of the brainless in today’s society.
She got that right. Till assaulted a white woman, and Trayvon assaulted an Hispanic man.
She is so full of herself. She thinks she is some kind of a dutchess. She can talk a blue streak about “racism” but what about bearing false witness? She lied and got somebody in trouble to push her stupid self-serving movie. These people disgust me. Oh, I wonder what she has to say about the “racist” rodeo clown. LOL
After this attitude of hers, I hope everyone with a brain stays away from that movie. I certainly will.
What is the world is all this Oprah news about? She’s so 1990s. Is she feeling ignored?
Go wallow in your $billions dear.
I have “O”phobia.. Im scared of not despising Oprah and Obama enough..
Blacks seem to be bewitched and whites neutered..
And asians could not care one way or the other..
The ones throwing the accusations of racism are IMO the racists. What a strange world at times we live in.
In before Jim ... FUOW!
You’re a racist whether or not you harbor ill will towards blacks or use the n-word. I suppose you might as well start using the n-word since you’re already a racist....
So I guess, according to Oprah - who has never met me and knows absolutely nothing about me - Even though I harbor no ill will towards other races and generally (beyond polite conversation) couldn’t care less about someone’s race ... I’m still racist just because my race is different than theirs. So Oprah is basing her claim solely on my race. Hmm, prejudice and stereotyping based on race. Seems wechave a word for that kind of thing Oprah is doing. Oh yeah, racism. Oprah has shown herself to be provably racist. No surprise.
Wonder if she needs 2 seats on a plane.
