I did nothing to denigrate their entrepreneurship or their faith. I said that “reality shows” are the height of fakeness, and this show is no exception.

Looks like Jase had a bit of trouble in NYC. Went into the hotel they all were staying in, and asked someone working there where the rest room was. They escorted him out of the hotel and pointed and said something like, knock yourself out.

He was actually quite gracious about the whole thing but joked that he was "facially profiled"

The guys on Duck Dynasty minus the money remind me of some friends and friends of family I fished and hunted with over the years. Lot's of misadventures, pranks, and unintended mishaps that turned out funny.

As for Phil and Si? Seriously their combined knowledge of the woods and survival skills would likely be far above most Freepers. It had to be. Their parents were very poor and hunting and fishing was the only meat source they had growing up.

Duck Dynasty sure beats The Simpsons, Southpark, The Osbournes, Bevis and Butthead, and other so called family entertainment by miles.

One friend of my dad we hunted with a lot was a real character. His idea of a belt for his pants was a piece of rope. It didn't matter if it was hunting or at work he wore the rope as a belt. To look at him you'd think he didn't have a cent. He could walk onto a car lot and pay cash for any new van he wanted to use for camping. He was also the one who one afternoon after my dad spotted a young coon going into a log decided that we should catch it. LOL He finally got the coon. And the coon was not pleased about it either. :>} The guy could build a fantastic mislead, make knives, or paint very detailed pictures on canvas.

Another friend of my dads we back country fished with had a habit of pushing his luck with bears. He got into some rather now comical situations.

If it had been an Obamaton, they would have Gloria Allred on the phone by now.

Humor goes a long way in teaching folks a lesson.

Phil has mentioned more than once that he IS 911.

I read his recent book and he was talking about his sons when they were young and impressionable.

A couple of one of boys decided to go play baseball with some mailboxes and Phil got wind of it. When the boys came into the yard with the car, all of them got 3 licks, even the boys who were not his sons.

Told them they either took the licks or they would never come back on the property.

Kids will do stuff like that especially in groups. I remember back in about the mid 1960's my dad went deer hunting. I was too young then. He was a bow hunter back when few in the state hunted with bows.

He was driving home from hunting on Halloween night and in a small town some boys standing at the county courthouse proceeded to start throwing pears at his car. It was an 55 Plymouth wagon and built like a tank.

Dad decided to put some fear into them. He stopped and got out then started string up his bow. They scattered for safer places. He had no intentions of harm though.

About 20 years later he was at work in the lunch room and was telling the story to a co-worker. Another guy sitting at the table said yea we thought you were gonna kill all of us LOL. He was one of the kids.

My dad made me behave he expected me to and there was punishment if I didn't. But he was also one to give me freedom many kids never experienced. When I was about 14 he'd take me to the lake and help me set up camp, launch the boat with an old open faced Evinrude 7.5 hp motor, and leave me there with the dog and a rifle for up to a month in the summer. He'd come up at least every other day to check on me bring ice and some food etc. That was in the early 1970's. Our nation sure has changed.

We cannot continue to give our, and our country’s, enemies more cannon fodder to use against us.

To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, stand for nothing, be nothing.

It doesn't work.

The left are bullies and bullies always find a reason even if they have to invent something.

Aesop knew this three thousand years ago, perhaps that is why they quit teaching him in school.

Hey, “when you don’t know.........do it quickly”, isn’t that the way Obama Care was passed!?!?!

DD is very entertaining and I’d rather follow the Robinson Boys than those hideous Kardashian’s.

He sure was gracious and un-Baldwinlike. He laughed it off instead of calling in the ACLU or Sharpton for the press effect. Refreshing.

The right is represented with class... Allen West, Sarah Palin, etc. and they are still eviscerated by the msm/left. Heck, even gwb has more class in his little finger than zero has in his entire body and he was mocked/derided beyond reason.

I don’t care what progressives say about DD or about conservatives. They are brain dead idiots and their opinion is worthless to me.

My grandchildren are the 4th generation that go hunting up in Roscommon Michigan...some of the stories I have heard over the years are really enough for a mother to faint. The grand kids like the bean bombs. When the campfire is good and hot, you throw in a can of beans, when they blow up, goes about 25 feet in the air and if anyone is dumb enough to catch it with their bare hands, they get a reward..I only saw a bean bomb once at my daughters home when the family was all sitting around the campfire. Those suckers really take off when they blow. No one tries to catch it on the way down unless they love burned hands...GG

That's sounds like my family. LOL One nephew tossed a can of Cheese whiz into a fire. Sounded like a cannon. BTW I saw an error in my post to you. The guy I knew could build fantastic muzzle loaders making his own stocks and doing his own checkering and engraving. I have a couple of his knives I inherited from my dad.

One of the funniest things my dad and I did was on a family camping trip. We had the place on the lake to ourselves all week. By the weekend it was getting kinda full. We had been calling in Young Hoot Owls at night all week into a tree above our camp.

The kids were after me to call the owls up. I figured with as many campers and lights going it wasn't gonna happen. So I said OK let's go up into a field about 500ft from the campground to the edge of the woods and I'll try there. I started calling and they didn't come to where I was. They all went to the campground about a dozen of them. A young Owl about half grown also can sound like a monkey. Imagine a tree full of them in East Tennessee LOL. You never heard a campground quieten down so fast LOL. A few yelled what is that? Some packed up and left too LOL. It was priceless and no one was ever the wiser except the family.
