The guys on Duck Dynasty minus the money remind me of some friends and friends of family I fished and hunted with over the years. Lot's of misadventures, pranks, and unintended mishaps that turned out funny.

As for Phil and Si? Seriously their combined knowledge of the woods and survival skills would likely be far above most Freepers. It had to be. Their parents were very poor and hunting and fishing was the only meat source they had growing up.

Duck Dynasty sure beats The Simpsons, Southpark, The Osbournes, Bevis and Butthead, and other so called family entertainment by miles.

One friend of my dad we hunted with a lot was a real character. His idea of a belt for his pants was a piece of rope. It didn't matter if it was hunting or at work he wore the rope as a belt. To look at him you'd think he didn't have a cent. He could walk onto a car lot and pay cash for any new van he wanted to use for camping. He was also the one who one afternoon after my dad spotted a young coon going into a log decided that we should catch it. LOL He finally got the coon. And the coon was not pleased about it either. :>} The guy could build a fantastic mislead, make knives, or paint very detailed pictures on canvas.

Another friend of my dads we back country fished with had a habit of pushing his luck with bears. He got into some rather now comical situations.
