Search warrants say a family friend tortured and killed a mother and her 8-year old son before setting his San Diego-area home on fire and fleeing with the woman's 16-year-old daughter.
The warrants unsealed Wednesday say James Lee DiMaggio and Hannah Anderson exchanged about 13 calls before Hannah was picked up from cheerleading practice on Aug. 4.
Both phones were turned off, and the home burned several hours later.

I’d love to know why Hannah Anderson exchanged 13 phone calls before she was kidnapped. I know some of you are not happy about this.
But, when was the last time you called someone 13 times in the morning?
Then, you’re phone are conveniently destroyed?
It’s also strange the “victim” has been posting images of herself smiling on Facebook!
She is oddly detached.
I don’t think text messages can be retrieved. Email can.
Maybe the police are waiting until she reveals her complicity.
These people have a different definition of friend then I do.
If she had exchanged calls with him in the past why would she find this strange?
Not to mention this one just came out of nowhere last week, and so soon after Zimmerman? America's never-ending conga line of depravity never fails to disappoint. It's like they're just printing money over on those cable TV news talking head shows.
I love how people have decided this girl is Squeaky Fromme. Maybe she’s just the victim of a tragedy.
Yeah, a cure 16 year old girl is going to be convicted, instead of blaming it all on the creepy weirdo who is dead.

I wonder - I thought in the George Zimmerman trial they retrieved texts from Trayvon’s phone that someone (possibly the prosecution or his family) deleted... Maybe I am wrong.

Point A....Who called who? I don’t know how many calls are normal for a murderous psycho...
Point B....I got the impression that some of the photos she has posted with her smiling were taken before this all happened.
I’ll just wait to see how it all pans out.
Contact the NSA; they surely have records and what was said between them.

Her friends have already volunteered that he made her uncomfortable with his professed feelings. Why do you think she is complicit?
In the Trayvon case the texts were right there, not deleted. Angela Corey told her tech guy to hide then [not send them to the defense].
Both phones were lost in the fire.
Is there a way to get them?
Always a good idea to send your teenage daughter off for a few days with a creepy old dude..
