I'm a shuttle driver for a hotel near the DFW airport, and in the last year a building program of making new toll plazas on the north and south end has taken place and part of this program has been to build very narrow concrete barriers to enter and exit the DFW airport.
The concrete barrier lanes, makes one feel one is entering or leaving a fortress compound, such as the Berlin Wall. There is only one wide lane for 22 passenger hotel shuttles or semi's, and this lane is not toll tag only meaning that any car may go in the lane, discriminating against vehicles that go into the airport with regularity with a toll tag, such as the vehicle I drive, because there is not an exclusive lane for wide vehicles with Texas toll tags.
I was departing the DFW airport and got caught, in which I believe was a car not having a ticket to depart in the wide lane. I waited four minutes and started to honk to get attention, so that traffic could move, I kept honking, and honking, because I knew I was the only driver on duty for the hotel. I put my vehicle in park, and got of the vehicle, to push my protest of the delay with no avail.
Finally after 12 minutes of waiting the red minivan went through, and I was notified by my radio and by my supervisor that I had been honking and had gotten out of the vehicle to see what was going on in 104 degree heat.
Anyway the DFW toll plaza is a total cluster youknowwhat. It is like a mini Berlin wall and is filled with recent immigrant employees, with rudimentary English, mostly from Africa and the Asian sub-continent.
The place is run by a man named Dean Ahmed, who has no idea about customer service. I have talked to him on the phone, he is your typical arrogant democrat.
Also, by my honking of the bad customer service, I was called into the DFW police who called my hotel, and now I have to suffer the HR director saying, "you don't honk", while she tells us, "to give the best service possible".
I wonder what she will say and look like, when I say,"Shouldn't the DFW parking authority give me the same."
You would have fixed my car.
The drivers there lean on the horns like crazy and follow NO rules.
Is there a thread here which displays or links to one of your letters. I would be imterested.
The worst part of this thread is the cops in TX and WV willing to respond to these idiots complaining about customer complaints, as if this is a police matter. The cops should issue them a citation just as they can for non emergency 911 calls.
Though, if you FReepmail me your address I can pop you the PDF.
Ouch. Hope you have a better day tomorrow!
BTW, don’t be a honky...it’s what third worlder’s do. They think the accelerator and horn are connected by an audio accelerator cable. Beating on the horn makes them go faster and feel snappy...Like that lizard who inflates himself and bloats up when threatened.
Then why is he your boss, if he is idiot enough to forget his wallet multiple times or not have a toll tag?
Anyway there is no excuse for a driver to wait 12 minutes to get through a toll plaza.
Maybe you all at the FAA should take competency in hospitality classes, rather than than the anger management classes that will be suggested I take on monday morning.
Next time you wake a left turn and cut within an inch of a pedestrian crossing a street, and you car gets kicked as a result, let me know what happens.
Me too.
And when driving in Egypt, you are only responsible for giving way to what is happening to you front-left side. . .the other three sides are someone’s else’s problem.
It is clear that you are one of those intentional “slow walkers”. A bump on this ass seems to get you ‘lil fellers ta high-steppin’.
Kick my car and you will fix my car.
Whether you require hospitalization is your choice, but you WILL fix it and you WON’T do it again.
“Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life”. . .your post, your threat, in cyber-space. . .the irony. . .
;-)
If the feller slow walks me tomorrow on my way to work it won’t be a cyber-space ass bump.
;<)
I did notice in New York City there were no slow walkers as they knew better.
Ha. . .please send a post card from jail, when that happens.
(that is, if you can affords one after being sued. . .say. . .didn’t I see you the other day, you know, road-raging down the interstate. . .)
;-)
I will not go to jail for giving a slow walker a lesson in manners.
No post card for you.
I don’t fear pansy-ass wieners who can only influence others by impeding them in traffic because they have no other source of power in their life.
As to the road rage that is a trait of lesser men than me. If you suffer from this malady get help.
Tell you what, I’ll gladly let the police come to the scene. You admit cutting right in front of me and I admit to kicking your car. You want me to pay for damages, and I want you charged with something like reckless driving. Then I’ll let the chips fall where they may. Deal?
Paladin, sorry, post 77 was meant for Eaker, not you. Eaker, re post 77, Deal?
But a quick question. . .after you speak plainly about hitting people with your car (just to show how tough you are). . .how can you possibly state with certainty “I will not go to jail for giving a slow walker a lesson in manners” Clearly, hitting a pedestrian with your car is unmannerly and, unmanly.
Thing is, last year while crossing a street in Arlington, VA, the Plantar Fascia in my right foot “sprung,” meaning it tore, shredded many strands. I could not hobble as I could not put any weight on the foot at all. I was stuck, standing upright in the crosswalk, unable to move. Eventually pedestrians crossed from the other side and I waited until they drew near and asked if they could help me. As I explained what happened and asked for help, the light changed. It must have looked to the driver of the car that drove up that we were just chatting. Apparently the driver of that car was not you because if it WAS you, you would have hit us with your car, you know, to teach us “manners.” And would have been right and legal to do so. . .in your mind.
At any rate, the driver that drove up started to blow the horn and had sped to mere inches from me and the Samaritan as we hobbled to the sidewalk.
Now, slow walkers are a darned nuisance, for sure (even been on the Metro in DC during tourist season?), but being a bully does not speak well of the bully and in fact makes people laugh at them.
Tough talk on the internet makes one laugh as well.
