Both of these pictures are just so beautiful, yorkie! How in the world are you anyway? I hope all is well with you and I was also wondering how your little doggie is! Forgot its name at the moment! Has it calmed down any? You were telling us about him/her getting your shoe and running from you like crazy. They are so cute when they’re puppies but they an chew up anything those little teeth can grab!! I bet you have it spoiled rotten!!!

Bet its hot in Arizona today. Its terribly hot here in Tennessee. I walked out to the trash can and the hot air took my breath away! I am hoping for some rain to cool things down a little. It will rain when the man upstairs wants it to rain....right??

Have a great day!

Hi, JC! Here's the most recent picture I have of my little 'popcorn'. Her name is Shanah - because she was purchased for me on Rosh Hashanah last year. She is now almost a year and a half.

She now has a pretty big box full of tricks, as she 'sits', 'sits up', 'shakes', 'stays', will not take food in front of her until I say "OK", she goes to her 'beddie' (small crate) for bedtime, and to her 'nappie' (larger crate in living room for afternoon nap.), and even opens the doors to her crates to enter! But, my most favorite trick of hers is when I tell her to SALUTE! She puts her right paw up over her head, and touches it. She loves everybody she meets, including other dogs!

We have had a LOT of monsoon rain the past month. In fact, our county is under a flood warning at this time. My driveway has some pretty deep crevices from the water flowing downhill, and will need to be filled in before winter. I think we set a record this year with rainfall. Phoenix has even had more rain than ever! Did you enjoy your pizza dinner with your son, the other night? Wishing you a lovely week! (((HUGS)))

I thoroughly enjoyed many leisure hours floating on a pool raft this weekend. It was wonderful. It was like going to a resort.

I even got to use the pool before my son. Poor guy, he’s the one paying for it! I actually did feel bad that all he got was facebook pictures of his wife and mom and the two Boston Terriers enjoying the pool this weekend while he works half way around the world in order to pay for it. He had to leave for his job in Africa just as they were finishing the plaster. But, he will be home in two weeks and will be able to enjoy it then. He will have four weeks off to get his fill of pool time. Hopefully the weather will stay warm for him.

Yes, time does pass quickly, especially as we get older. I cannot believe the holidays will be upon us soon. I am not ready for all that again. You are so fortunate to have babies in the family. My grandchildren are almost at the age to start families, but not quite. I miss having babies in the family.

Have a good day, jaycee. Hope you are feeling well.

She sure is a cutie pie, yorkie! And I bet she’s not spoiled a bit! She sounds quite intelligent with all the commands she follows, too. I guess she’s a lot of company for you in the long run. I’d love to see the salute command! Bet that’s cute!

I hadn’t heard about all that rain you all have been having. Isn’t Arizona known for its dryness? (a lot I know...LOL)!!

Yes, we enjoyed the pizza the other evening and the pineapple upside down cake wasn’t bad either. Its one of my favorite cakes. Mama used to make her pineapple cake in her iron skillet and the few times I’ve made it, I did the same. Seems to be better with the brown sugar and buttery syrup in the bottom of the skillet and when you turn it out, it looks prettier and more delicious. This we had the other night was in the regular 9 by 13 pan. They didn’t turn it out and just left it in the pan. I like my way the best I guess ‘cause I learned it from Mama. (Our eyes taste the cake first.)

Hi, Shanah, you’re a cutie pie! This is your Auntie Jane talking to ya! Speak! Get in your little crate house now.
Your Auntie Jane is crazy, isn’t she?

Just saw your sunset picture,it is gorgeous! I love the American west.

Shanah is adorable!

My aunt out in Colorado got a Tibetan terrier ( looks similar to Shanah but he’s bigger) a few years ago and they are so happy together. Henry is so cute, small but mighty, and protects her home and yard like one of my Dobermans.

Cheers for our dog companions!

I didn’t know you had Doberman’s! How many.....I bet about two! Am I right? This is the first time in my life that I haven’t had any pets. Its always been dogs or cats and sometimes both. When my last dog (a black and white Sheltie) died, I thought I’d never get over crying for her. My hubby was here then and he cried hard, too. (for a long time) I decided I wasn’t going to have anymore because it hurt so bad when I lost her.

After my husband passed away, everyone begged me to get another dog and I decided against it. Being alone, every hand’s turn would have been mine. As I started getting older, I just didn’t need anything to take of, like running to the vet, etc. Its not selfish but it was just in my heart not to have another pet. Its hard taking care of myself....LOL!

I enjoy the birds outside and try to take care of them by feeders and having lots of water for them to bathe in and drink. And God does the rest!

If I remember correctly, you and I use(d) the same recipe for pineapple upside down cake. This is how they turn out, right?
I would love to make a half cake, but can't find the box mix like Jiffy used to have for small cakes.
If I make the whole cake, I would have to throw out most of it, as there is no one to share with anymore.

(Of course I could make it from scratch, and just halve the recipe
but the box mix always turned out so good, I never changed.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. LOL!)

Oh how delicious that looks. Looks just like Mama’s. I don’t make too many cakes unless I would be having company or something. That is the way that Mama and I would make it though (round in the iron skillet.) I want a piece of that so bad....yummmmmm!!!

Just had some news from my next door neighbor. If you remember, David’s wife Brenda passed away a few years ago and David found Judy....they dated some and then got married. (I had thought at the time that he was marrying too quickly after Brenda died.)

Judy came over a little while ago and we sat out on the porch and THEY are getting a divorce. My mouth gapped open almost. She is moving out on Thursday! I was flabbergasted because I thought how lucky they were to have found each other. She said it just wasn’t working out....she said David never talked. OOh well, there’s something new every day. I liked Judy a lot and told her I would sure miss her. She promised she would come see me sometime.

I’d rather have the pineapple cake than worry about the neighbor’s problems....LOL! I will miss Judy. I hate it didn’t work out for them.

Hi Jaycee! We’ve had 2 Dobermans at a time for the last 25 years, an heir and a spare. When we lose one, we soon get another to heal our hearts. The last 2 we adopted were from Doberman rescues, the other 3 we raised from puppy age. I was attracted to this breed because I stayed in CO with my aunt when I was a teenager, and was so impressed by her Doberman called Ranger. He was awesome to look at and so smart. He was my aunt’s protector when my uncle was away on business. When they lost Ranger, they couldn’t get another Doberman because none would compare to him. About 4 years ago, my aunt who has been widowed for 11 years, decided to take the leap and get a puppy, and she is so glad she did.

Hey that is as long as a bed time story! Put in a quarter and I’ll talk all night!
