Wow! I never realized Prince could play a guitar like ringing a bell! His rifts were super smokin’!
Thanks for that post, a much, much better version of than George Harrison’s original ditty.
I must say, I’m surprised to see iut work, but it does, doesn’t it. And Prince clearly steals the show and knows it! Punk!
Pretty close to the original nad very, very good.
BTW, his son looks just like him as a young man.
Prince, once again, shows his prowess as a guitar gun-slinger. Very cool.
While never giving up his “urban-black upbringing”, he continues to move guitar rock-and-roll forward. He gives quarter to urban hip-hop as valid entertainment but remains true to his roots by choking that stratocaster until it screams!
I'm reminded that it was while Eric Clapton was at Harrisons house teaching George how to play this song that Eric fell in love with George's wife, Patty.
Eric wrote the song Layla about Patty.
George wrote 'Something' about Patty.
Eric goes on to marry Patty while Patty's sister marries Mic Fleetwood but divorces Mic when she discovers Mic with Stevie Nicks.
Anyway.....
I stopped in one day, and the doc toured me through his dental rooms - one of which had two of Harrison's guitars, all nicely autographed, accompanied by verifying photos.
Prince
Many, very talented musicians on that stage. Prince definitely knows how to play well, he is in top form here (and in mostly normal clothing)!
Nailed it!!
as long as Moody Blues arent elected to rock n roll hall i could give a crap less.
That was great. Prince, ever the performer.

That peformance really kicked butt. Credit where due, an outstanding job.
Jeff Lynne has no stage presence, but he is one heckuva musician and producer.
Well played - by everyone involved.
No Eric Clapton?
That was really NICE!
Thank you for posting.
My agent does a lot of advertising on the Internet, and I gasped as, right as Prince was doing that amazing solo, there was a pop-under ad for guitar lessons by....ME! Yikes! :-)
I love that song, and was lucky enough to see it played by the man during the George Harrison and Friends tour in Seattle, 1974. It was quite an ensemble with Billy Preston, Tom Scott, Ravi Shankar, Robben Ford plus I don’t remember the rest. They also played “My Sweet Lord” and “Something”.
Great concert among many back then...
