But if one is in Florida or planning on visiting Florida, what precautions should one take?
It should be noted that Sanford is on the Northeast side of Orlando, Florida.
Disney World is on the Southwest side of Orlando. Will that be far enough away so that innocent tourists will not become victims?
Will trouble spill over into other Florida cities/locales?
Troubling is that Obama is not trying to keep people from possibly rioting.
Seems like our president should be trying to keep the peace. The lives at stake are all people in the possible troubled areas. African-Americans may end up in jail or injured/shot. Other people (whites/hispanics) could also be victims.
part of me wants to be in a shopping mall in front of a bank of televisions when the verdict is read....and when they read “not guilty” i will start jumping for joy and celebrating- you know, like the OJ supporters did back in the day...

Not sure if you've been there, but the theme parks are set back from the main roads on Disney's private property.....and once you enter the parks, your bags are searched.
There are unobtrusive cameras everywhere.....Disney knows what is going on at all times.
Imo, it's probably one of the safest places to be.....
...but running around Orlando proper (after you leave Disney).....that's a whole different story entirely.
However if you planned a trip to Disney and stayed in one of 'their' many theme hotels, you should be fine.
fwiw, I've even had friends evacuate to Disney during a hurricane....as everything is so well built.--Trust me, they take care of their own.

I believe that Disney is the only business in Florida that has a POLICE FORCE. No, not security guards, a police force. WDW is the happiest place on earth, but I think they can bust your chops if you tick them off.

The openly waged war against Whitey has been raging for quite some time. Black America by and large has been indoctrinated to hate, justified in their hatred, and encouraged to seek revenge. No media or politician will touch this issue with a 20' pole, but both sides know it just the same.

Although caution is in order, I do not expect a Zimmerman acquittal to generate significant race incidents in the central Florida area. Disney and the area around it are heavily commercial, with a variety of residential apartments, condos, and upscale suburbs that lack a substantial population of volatile ghetto Blacks. Orlando proper and Sanford are another matter though, and have numerous established Black neighborhoods with a high rate of poverty and crime. The areas west and southwest of the central part of Orlando are especially risky and should be avoided.
I posted this on the other thread but my son who is 18 now, plays summer baseball for college players and their home stadium is in Sanford.
You have to drive about a mile (25MPH speed limit) through a pretty rough neighborhood off of 17-92 before you get to the the stadium. Sketchy for sure, though I’ve never openly witnessed a drug deal or hooker (usually its during the afternoon).
I have concerns, he’s a big mean kid if it’s 1-on-1 but if people are turning over cars and stuff, he’ll have to get out of there. 6’3” 215, strong as a bull with MMA training, but that’s no match for a gang of thugs. I have no weapon he can carry and no money to buy anything right now either.
I had to ride the J-train through Bedfort-Stuyvestant (Brooklyn) and take the bus through South Jamaica (Queens) on the day that Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Lucky to get home before dark, I suppose. A white friend of mine was on the same bus shortly after an innocent young black boy (literally true) in the neighborhood was killed by an exceptionally reckless NYPD plains clothes cop. A mob attacked the bus and broke all the windows, but passengers were otherwise unharmed. The attack on the bus was not reported in the news. The cop was acquitted based on an insanity plea, but the hospital discharged him a year later saying he was clearly not insane (just evil).
I hope they don't trash the train station!
I live in Orlando, and I would never trust Disney security. Disney is run by PC liberals.
Orlando is having a GAy PRIDE Parade in about a few weeks, so I'll stay away until sanity returns.
I think that the trial has shown just how weak the prosecution case is, thus diminishing the sense of racial grievance. With a bit of caution, not getting isolated, and having anything as a weapon, even just a baseball bat, your son should be OK.
