Okay, we sort of know which countries have the best food. Nations like Italy, China, and Japan. But here is an unusual question: Which country has the worst food and why?
Until recently I would say that the British Isles has the worst food. Boiled and overcooked is NOT the way to prepare most food since it cooks the flavor right out of it. However, in recent years food has reportedly improved in that part of the world.
So which country NOW has the WORST food in the world? And please give reasons for this if possible.
I gotta go with the Phillipines: I was in college with Pinoys and they salivated for fish heads and rice! But Scotland can’t be far behind!
You have to have food in order to be judged if it’s bad or not.
Granted... there ARE some weird things like balut, and I don't know your gastronomical preferences, but I've always eaten rice, veggies, a meat of some kind (usually fish or pork .. but beef ((expensive there)) also) and the table usually has 5 or 6 or 7 different things that you just take a little of (except the rice)
Oh yeah .. I'm married to a Filipina.
Eww, you could be eating Helen Thomas in a sausage casing.
I think it’s BO and funk.
I saw an article in the WSJ about 20 years ago claiming Glasgow, Scotland had the “unhealthiest” food.
Don’t particularly recall them saying it tasted bad, though.
The only specific item I remember was a “cannonball”, a hard-boiled egg wrapped in ground sausage and deep-fat-fried..
May not be the cooking, it could be the bad juju voodoo...
Ethiopian restaurants were popular about 30 years ago in leftie cities. Take one soft flat bread, two feet in diameter. Put piles of six different kinds of lentils around the edge, all flavored with something sour, as is the bread. Two different bowls of hot sauce. Tear off pieces of bread with right hand, pinch up sour lentils, dip in hot sauce, eat.

I did not like the food in Denmark but the beautiful women and great beer more than made up for it..
It's funny, the food is one of the reasons I enjoy international travel! On my trip to Iceland earlier this year, I got to try whale, puffin, reindeer, and horse (all of which were dee-lish).
I dont eat Goat, sheep, or water buffalo,
I've tried goat & sheep (they're ok), and I wouldn't hesitate to try water buffalo.
and I hate curry!
Good. That leave more for me!
IMO it’s a toss up between India and China. Been to both, lost weight in both. In India because of really bad food and the heat, while in China due to food poisoning.
Nothing beats the food in the good ol USA far as I’m concerned. Been to France, it’s good, but doesn’t beat the USA.
I am married to an Italian so food is never an issue. :-)
What’s wrong with goat meat?
Welsh Grandparents. The meat was boiled until it was gray. The green beans were boiled until they were gray. And so on,,,,,,,,,,,
Try their tree bark pie. Mmmmmmmmm.
I’ve never really cared for German food.
German Beer on the other hand........
“.. Ethiopia and Somalia must be pretty high up on the list.”
Not judging by the number of Ethiopian restaurants that have opened and flourished in the DC Metro area in recent years. Dunno about Somalia. Ethiopia’s success may be due to Italian influence, as Vietnamese food reflects the French.
