WHAT DID YOU EXPECT ? This weekend address of 6/18/13 to the Irish might make it to the national scene but our media will sit on it.
The Democrats after taking complete control since even losing the House in 2010 had the word and reference to GOD removed at their 2012 national convention. A fact that went un-noticed and un-touched by the RINOS and GOPES (GOP elite snobs) who are running todays Republican party.
Even after reconsideration the decision was derided by the majority because it was re-installed over a majority voice vote supporting the removal.
If this were a political party in a parlimentary system it would be hyphenated and would (and should despite the difference) be refered to as the Demo-Com party. But the RINOS and GOPES cant even call them socialist.
Any Catholic or Christian claiming to belong to this party is a hyprocrite and should be confronted with disgust and distain.
I think he’s partially right: Obama didn’t attack Catholic schools specifically. However, I think it was pretty clear that this was his intention and that attacking the concept of non-state run schools was really what he had in mind.
And I’m sure Bambi would never say the same about a madrassa or school run by a mosque, even though those are nothing but terrorist training grounds.
I am not the brightest bulb on the tree, but Obama’s speech was pretty clear to me.
He doesn’t want Catholic and Protestant schools in Ireland, and he doesn’t want them here either.
Maybe if this well-spoken Negro could learn to speak more plainly we could understand what he has to say. In this case I think we understood him well enough.
Just as an aside.
WTF is Obama doing telling other countries how to run their country? He cannot run this one, he claims he doesn’t know what is going on here, maybe he should keep his nose, and his mouth—maybe even his protruding ears out of other countries business.
I've always been a fan of Donohue in his wide-ranging defenses of the faith over the years, but I strongly believe that, lately, he has gotten certain things 100% wrong, and this is one of them.
Whether due to the frailities of aging, fears of the IRS, NSA generated threats, or something else, I am starting to think that for certain issues lately involving Obama, Donohue has gotten the issue completely wrong, and has proclaimed his erroneous take loudly.
My hope is that some prominent Catholic who Donohue might listen to more readily (like Father Mitch) will discuss these issues with him directly, and disabuse him of his obviously erroneous takes on them.

Bill Donohue comments on President Barack Obamas speech given in Ireland where he mentioned Catholic schools:
There are plenty of reasons to be critical of President Obamas policies as they relate to the Catholic Church, and I have not been shy in stating them. But the reaction on the part of conservatives, many of whom are Catholic, over his speech in Ireland, is simply insane. Never did Obama say he wants an end to Catholic education. Indeed, he never said anything critical about the nature of Catholic schools. It makes me wonder: Have any of his critics bothered to actually read his speech?
Obamas speech, given in Northern Ireland, properly spoke of the divisions between Catholics and Protestants. He lauded the Good Friday Agreement, noting that There are still wounds that havent healed, and communities where tensions and mistrust hangs in the air. He said that segregated schools and housing add to the problem. Then he said, If towns remain dividedif Catholics have their schools and buildings, and Protestants have theirsif we cant see ourselves in one another, if fear or resentment are allowed to harden, that encourages division.
Obama was not condemning Catholic schoolshe was condemning segregation. He was calling attention to the fact that where social divisions exist, the prospects for social harmony are dimmed. How can anyone reasonable disagree with this observation? Moreover, it should hardly be surprising that a black president would be sensitive to segregation, whether based on race or religion.
Some are also condemning Obama for disrespecting a Vatican official who days earlier touted Catholic education before a Scottish audience. So what? Obamas speech, which no doubt was written before Archbishop Gerhard Müller spoke, mentioned Catholic schools in conjunction with Catholic buildings, the purpose of which was not to assess the worth of Catholic education (or Catholic buildings!), but to criticize religious divisions. In short, ripping comments out of context is an old game, and it is patently unfair to speakers and writers.
