United Airlines Forgets to Pack Toilet Paper on 10-Hour Flight...
SF Weekly ^ | Jun. 21 2013 | Erin Sherbert

Yes, flying can get more uncivilized.

A United Airlines flight departing SFO earlier this week, bound for London, reportedly forgot to pack an important item for the non-stop 10-hour trip across the ocean: toilet paper.

So along with a safety demonstration, the airline crew had to instruct passengers to dig around their bags and purses for some alternative wiping machinery -- a napkin, a tissue ...

The crew was kind enough to offer cocktail napkins as an alternative.

-snip-

Now might be a good time to remind travelers that United Airlines was recently ranked the worst airline in the country.

“time to remind travelers that United Airlines was recently ranked the worst airline in the country.”

It was a good airline until the Continental takeover.

There was an article a while back that said the airlines have decided that there’s simply no return on investment on good customer service, particularly in coach. People book the cheapest tickets they can find, and while they’ll complain about bad service, they won’t reward good service by being loyal or by paying more.

The airlines have such a notorious reputation for screwing people over that there warrants no customer loyalty.

Not to mention that people don't mind paying a *little* more. What they charge for extras is more than *a little*.

Interesting. Ping to research article.

I always drink lots of fluids on long flights so a lack of TP wouldn't necessarily bother me.But if I were to have become suspicious of the crew’s flying skills I might think differently.

OK ...

This has to do with the CONTRACTED ground service company ... generally the Amish who service the aircraft between flights. Not the airline.

Secondly, there is USUALLY a robust supply of paper towels (for hand drying) in the rest rooms.

Thirdly, I pity the ground crew at the landing end who has to service the clogged toilets.

The airline industry is dominated by multiple unions, all of which have an entitlement attitude. There is no customer service and they do not care. It begins the from the moment you step foot into the airport until you get to your destination without your luggage.

I really, really dislike union thugs and I avoid doing business with them whenever humanly possible.

I always have a roll of camping Toilet Paper in my purse. It doesn’t have a cardboard roll in the middle, so it takes up very little space.

Also carry pocket kleenex and handiwipes. Comes in handy all the time.

Way back in 2002 I decided to never fly with United again. British airways is another I avoid, and now Qantas, which in partnership with Etihad has banned bacon on flights between Europe and Australia, letting us know that ‘tolerance’ doesn’t work both ways as far as they’re concerned.

grammar police self-referral: "its" is possessive, "it's" is a contraction.

Well, it is what it is.

Sounds like the Browns had no chance of reaching the Super Bowl on that flight. Unless of course they were muzzles.

They could advertise the flight as a “complete communism experience.”
