Google is profiting from adverts which appear alongside vile terror videos on YouTube, it emerged last night.
The Mail has found adverts for reputable companies on videos of Al Qaeda fanatics calling for jihad.
The companies, which include Vodafone, TalkTalk and iTunes, have little control over where their products feature on the hugely popular film-sharing website.
One major advertiser said Google have got a lot to answer for.
A source said: It is ridiculous that they would put our advertisements on videos such as these. We dont have a choice in this at all.
We dont want to be associated with these videos in any way whatsoever. We do not want to be associated with someone blowing someone elses head up or someone spreading evil and hate.

Google is the DNC.
The real Obama Phones: the Android Os ones.
From the article:
“Yesterday the Mail reported how thousands of Al Qaeda videos urging British Muslims to maim and kill can be found on YouTube within seconds.
This is despite claims by the website that it has community guidelines that prohibit dangerous of illegal activities such as bomb making, hate speech and incitement to commit violent acts and accepts only religious films.
In one clip, Anwar al-Awlaki, the dead ideological leader of Al Qaeda, describes how Islam is spread by the sword.”
Google making money from hatred. Why doesn’t that surprise me?
This is despite claims by the website that it has community guidelines that prohibit dangerous of illegal activities such as bomb making, hate speech and incitement to commit violent acts and accepts only religious films.
In one clip, Anwar al-Awlaki, the dead ideological leader of Al Qaeda, describes how Islam is spread by the sword.
But put up a video avocating deporting them all and place your bets on how many minutes it'll take before it's pulled (along with the poster's account).
YouTube users upload 60 HOURS of new videos EVERY MINUTE. Do you really expect that anyone actually watches it all to enforce any rules?
They have some automated filters, I imagine, but realistically there’s no way to censor at the level you seem to expect. It’s not possible to control content in detail, at that rate of new addition.
Their claim of enforcing rules is based on other users complaining, and then responding to complaints.
So, complain to the site about each hate video you see....
wow...who owns google? I think we should boycott it until they gain some standards! Good lord!
wow...who owns google?
***stockholders
I think we should boycott it until they gain some standards! Good lord!
***I agree. But boycotts take a lot of effort and no one has the time.
Google is an enemy.
They support everything I oppose and oppose everything I support.
They took the Linux kernel and built a phishing expedition masquerading as an OS appropriately named, “Android”. They should be despised just for that.
They capture every keystroke you make on their search engines, as well as every gesture on their cell phones. They track you. They know where you are. They feed all the information to the Democrat Party for free, and they sell all the information to whoever will buy.
They are to be avoided as much as is humanly possible.
Google ads are automatic. You find a hate speech vid, hit the “abuse” button, Google takes it down.
Mostly not.
Try hitting abuse on a democrat antisemite rant about the illuminati jews.
Already at the time Joe Lieberman started looking at the internet, youtube was the most important site in the world for the online jihad.
Do you really believe that? Try it, that’s BS. Google will suspend accounts for posting videos against Islam but they rarely remove the jihad material.
“ou find a hate speech vid, hit the abuse button, Google takes it down.”
untrue
I will buy BACON from any company who advertising on an Al Quada rant!
Here's what it says at the bottom of the abuse report form:
Flagged videos and users are reviewed by YouTube staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week to determine whether they violate Community Guideline. Accounts are penalized for Community Guidelines violations and serious or repeated violations can lead to account termination. If you would like to report a channel, please click here
Now, if you want to start some conspiracy theory about Google being anti-sematic and pro-Islamic, I'm outta here.
After all, if voters knew about Congress's constitutionally limited powers then unconstitutionally big federal government would be out of business arguably overnight. "News" agencies would then have to create another national soap opera to keep people's eyes glued to TV screens or lose advertizing dollars.
Your ignorance is astounding. Try it sometime and see how it works in practice. There’s people that have spent years trying to get Google to remove jihad and anti-Semitic content. See mypetjawa.mu.nu
Yes, Google is pro jihad, “Arab spring”, and hosts numerous anti-Semitic channels such as Michael Delaney of Prothink/TruTube, Scott Roberts of TheForbiddenTruth, and other people such as the religious fraud “Brother Nathanael” in accordance with their radical Islamist leanings.
Google has not the slightest interest in removing them when pointed out.
There you go, trying to be sensible and rational. :) I made the same mistake above (#6).
Those folks who want to believe that Google is the Great Satan will do so, and find justification in the fact that Google doesn't necessarily do what those folks want them to do. I don't think people really understand what 60 hrs of new video every minute really means. I have to wonder whether they actually use the YouTube "Abuse" function, or merely want to complain. Since they provide no links to the vids they think should be taken down, that they've hit "Abuse" on with no effect, it's hard to tell.
Personally I don't like Google much; they're snoops and occasionally they do something really bad. But the Great Satan, nah.
