I've been on Midway's notification list for 22LR. Got an email time stamped 7:07, caught it by 7:30 and they were already sold out again.
I don't know how much they sold in 23 minutes but it was all they had.
Now they aren't even keeping the list.
Better hang on to what you have. And well, that’s probably the end of tourism for hunting and firearms sports for a few years. And to think that this time, VIP CO constituents and their politicians started it.
The Gander Mountain in Lake Mary has been getting some .22LR in. They have had a bunch of Federal Ultra Match at $25/box (ouch!). As of last Friday they still had that, no surprise at that price. Then they got in some Remington/Eley match grade and target grade. Target grade was $12/box, Match grade was $30/box (double ouch!). The target grade was gone last Friday, no surprise. Still had match Eley in stock.
I recommend that friends read the book One Second After and emphasize to read the foreword. In almost every case, I notice an immediate difference and am asked for advice or what action I have taken. I think the book is so well written to reflect a really possible situation and the actions of real people that people can immediately identify with it.
PS. I have a couple of Henry magnum 22 rifles which I really like (accurate and effective at 100 -200 yards) but they can also fire regular 22 LR. My wife not only prodded me to buy more ammo when it was cheap, but in many cases just bought it and brought it home (she read “One Second After”.
Boycott online auction sites, gunbroker.com, etc.
Buy your ammo only at reasonable prices.
Was on e-mail notification to get an extended mag for my Sig. Now, no more e-mail notification on that either. This whole thing is a total crock. Stupid government.
Excellent book and fun to read, lots of action and survival stuff.
I got a Gamo Whisper that came with an integral supressor, light, and laser. I sighted in and was amazed at how it performed at night with the light and laser.
What are you looking for?
Re your post 43, what you say is correct. The book offers good survival advice.
I am doing my best to prepare for what might happen, but I am also a realist and know that at my age and my wife’s age we would not survive long. IIRC, the old people in the book were among the first to perish.
” I’d rather a thousand people had 200 rounds each than ten people had 20,000 rounds each. If things get ugly, the more decent Americans who are armed, the better. Also, the more patriotic parents there are who can teach their kids to shoot, the better.”
This is why I Freep!

Damn....I’m frigging rich.
Now we need the Ruger 10-22 in 22mag.
My favorite field gun is a Savage 22mag over
20guage. The 22 mag upper will drop
deer in their tracks and the 20 lower will
bring in the flyers and
runners.
My buds call it a poacher’s gun, I call it fast
food. Also got 12 and matching 20 barrels
for whatever
I use an auto-alert system (which I’m not going to invite more competition to), and if you haven’t executed your order in 60 seconds, you’re too late.
They make it in .22 mag.
Luckygunner’s still got some .22LR, about 20 bucks for a box of 50. But they soak you on the shipping charges, just like most other online stores.
I’m looking for .45acp JHP & FMJ, .40 JHP and FMJ, .357 mag and .38 special.
Unfortunately I’m not willing to pay scalper rates which seems to be all I can find.
I can get it locally for 10 bucks a box, ain’t no way!
