Re your post 43, what you say is correct. The book offers good survival advice.

I am doing my best to prepare for what might happen, but I am also a realist and know that at my age and my wife’s age we would not survive long. IIRC, the old people in the book were among the first to perish.

My wife and I are older also, but even if we don’t survive long, we will have prepared and helped others. Just be recommending the book “One Second After” has prompted several friends to start preparing. While we survive we can help others of a like nature by providing resources, teaching a lot that younger people have never known, and being able to help out in tasks that others would not have time to do.
