Most Overrated Historic Figure(s)
Posted on 04/20/2013 7:55:55 PM PDT by MNDude
There are probably many people in history who have received more credit than they deserved. Excluding any US Presidents in the past century (that would be too easy), what three historic figures do you think are the most overrated?

Overrated: the list is endless.
Harry Truman
John F. Kennedy
Bill AND Hillary Clinton
Obama
Franklin D. Roosevelt
Earl Warren
Lindsey Graham
John McPain
Abraham Lincoln
Nelson A. Rockefeller
Bob Casey, Jr.
Sandra Day O’Connor
Sonia Sotomayor
Elena Kagan
Adlai Stevenson, II
Susan Collins
Olympia Snowe
Chris Christie
Really, it can be a long list, too numerous to read.

Woodrow Wilson, loved by liberals but...
1. Racist
2. Big government
3. Ran as the peace candidate in 1916 knowing that we were going to go in; the delay cost hundreds of thousands of lives.
4. The “great peacemaker” couldn’t make peace with Henry Cabot Lodge and compromise to get the treaty past.

He had his finer points and was not “bad” per se, but James Madison, “Father Of The Bill Of Rights.”
He was no such thing, he was a mere go-between. Madison gets the acclaim due a man who actually did the work and who paid a great price personally and in historical regard for his dogged insistence.
