Trying to tear meat off a chicken skeleton is an annoyance for many Americans, especially younger ones. So KFC, in what its calling a game changer of a move, is ditching the bones.
The Kentucky-based chicken chain is rolling out its Original Recipe Boneless options on April 14 as it attempts to draw back patrons seeking more portable, convenient foods.

Because eating around the bone is too much to ask of anyone.
Dude! Someone already invented chicken strips.
KFC: Drats, foiled again!
Now that’s “Original Recipe”
So....Chicken fingers for everyone.
I’m into chicken french now....it’s soooo easy. I get the breasts from aldi’s. So glad my kids are grown and I don’t have to share.
I call the under 30 crowd the sandwich generation. They do not eat at tables with knife and fork. Only with their hands, as with sandwiches and snacks, so they can have the other hand free to text etc.
Odd bunch, indeed.
I think you’re correct.
When my offspring and their mates visit for a meal, my spouse confiscates all mobile devices, LOL.
This is why ribs are so delicious: the best meat is near the bone, and with a rack of ribs ALL the meat is near the bone.
I hear ya. Give me a good bone-in steak, and you WILL see me go caveman on it!
A pointy stick, no less. Is that something you want in a bar full of drunks? Bloomberg would have to take action...

I clicked on this thread just for that cartoon. Thanks for not disappointing me.
I have had boneless chicken and I have had Boneless Pork Loin, and I can tell you from experience that the bone adds to the flavor.
I can eat around the skeleton.
Their cole slaw used to be awesome but now it has no taste, as if it were made out of the core of the cabbage instead of the leaves.
Hadn’t thought about it til you mentioned the BIG benefit...maybe if they change/cheapen food fed to chickens, they can grow them with very little bone mass, more meat.
Poor chickens. I like them the way God designed them.
I agree. I used to look forward to KFC chicken, but around 5-7 years ago the quality/taste went to pot. I don't know if it was because they tired to make it 'healthier' (face it - fried chicken is never going to be health food) by getting rid of the trans-fats, or whether the quality of the local franchises all went bad at the same time - but I've just stop trying it out. I haven't been to a KFC in 2+ years. I miss the old trans-fat artery hardening treat.
A friend's daughter was eating some chicken nuggets and suddenly got a light bulb over her head. She looked somewhat disgusted and said "Chicken nuggets come from .... chicken?!?!?!?" After a couple moments thought she remembered how tasty they were and dove back in.
Shoot, I can get a rotisserie chicken at Whole Foods for less than $9.
