Not if they're rent-a-cops or TSA types.
The question does not address the problem of an intruder intent on killing people.
Should teachers be armed?
Absolutely .. they have a vested interest in staying alive, keeping their salary base alive and maintaining a structure in which to earn ... or get ... that salary.
I'd allow for returning military yet to have had any combat stress materialize.

Ditto to GeronL.
This fabricated issue is so overblown, I’m getting seriously angry. These attacks are so isolated and widespread; to extrapolate them to assess risk at EVERY school is just plain stupid.
It’s like saying that if a meteorite hits somewhere on earth, we need to construct our houses out of 3 foot thick steel.

I think kids should not be on school grounds.
Better to learn in the safety of home.

The correct question is:
Should schools be gun free zones?
The correct answer is HELL NO!

Yes. We have to protect the kids from sick unstable Democrats.

It was common for boys at my kids’ high school to take guns to school, especially during hunting season. I’m sure even that school has now gone PC.

I voted "yes".
Freeped and bumped.
