Gen. James Mattis, known to his troops as “Mad Dog Mattis,” is retiring after 41 years of military service.
The Marine Corps Times is calling Mattis the “most revered Marine in a generation.”
Mattis has been commander of the United States Central Command since 2010 and led the 1st Marine Division into Iraq in 2003.
According to reports, President Barack Obama decided to force the Marine Corps legend out early because he rubbed civilian officials the wrong way, and forced them to answer tough questions regarding Iran.
Mattis was an inspirational leader of men and his powerful words will go down in history.
Here are some of the best words that the “Mad Dog” has had to offer:
1. “I don’t lose any sleep at night over the potential for failure. I cannot even spell the word.”

There’s around 320 million Americans. It wouldn’t take a large percentage to cause serious problems.
They are issuing contract to buy up to an amount that they probably won't buy. By issuing the contracts to more than one company they can tie up the supply.

I plan to write a letter..not an email to send to the Good general letting him know that there are many in this country who honor and value him and his service. It would be nice if other Freepers took the time to do this.
A Freeper sent me the article in email. I'd be willing to be that it winds up in the good General's email inbox too. He's sure to be deluged with thousands of thank yous from across the country. I have no doubt that he'll feel very much appreciated by his fellow Americans.

I do blame our politicians, but I also blame our spineless generals too. Our generals did not stick up for servicemen who were placed in an impossible situation, with very restrictive ROE. Most of these generals are politicians, not warriors. David Hackworth got it exactly right when he called them “Perfumed Princes”.

I am merely pointing out that by not using facts and by calling names, you are practicing Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals #5. I ma making a fact-based claim. Look it up.
Calling somebody a "kook" without refuting a single fact is classic Alinsky tactics. It's how they destroyed the John Birch Society, who predicted everything that Obama and his fellow travelers are doing today fifty years ago.
