I stood my ground (How one man stood up to the jack booted thugs in NJ.....it's coming)

The fight has officially been brought to my front door

Last night I was out with a buddy of mine. I got a text from my wife that the cops and dyfs are at the house and they wanna check out my guns and needed me to open my safe. I'm instantly on my way. I get in contact with evan Nappen on the way. I explain the situation. I walk in my house and hand the phone to the first cop I see. Then direct all of em outside. Dyfs got a call because of a pic on my son holding a gun. They wanted to look around and check all my guns out, make sure they were all registered. Obviously that didn't go well because I refused. I had Nappen on speaker phone the entire time so they had to deal with both of us. They kept trying to pressure me to open my safe. They had no warrant, no charges, nothing. I didn't budge. I was told I was being "unreasonable" and that I was acting suspicious because I wouldn't open my safe. Told me they were gonna get a search warrant. Told em go ahead. Nappen (my lawyer) asked me for the dyfs workers name. she wouldnt give it. i asked for credentials and she wouldnt show em. i tried to take a pic of her and she turned around real fast and walked away. After a while of them threatening to take my kids, get warrants and intimidation they left. Empty handed and seeing nothing.

People it can happen that fast. Most people wouldn't have stood up to them like I did.

You are quite welcome.

F.Y.I., for Dropbox, phones are not required. If you have or work on more than one computer you can use it. Even on public use computers you can use the Dropbox web page to access your files.

It's even great if you have just one computer. Any important files you put into your Dropbox will be there if something bad happens to your computer. Stolen computer, hard drive failure, accidentally delete something, etc., no problem if it was in your Dropbox. And at no cost. I highly recommend it to everyone. :) It is a very robust cloud storage service.

I tried carbonite (yes I have problems with their politics) and they have a mobile app. It automatically saves photos to your PC, as well as the cloud. Plus it gives you the ability to remote wipe your phone.

Should have called one of your neighbors, to have them remove the valve stem cores out of the "cops and dyfs" tires, while they were inside your house.
Make it cost them in dollars and time.
If they then leave their vehicle there, while waiting on a tow, burn it.

That’s dynamite. Sounds too good to be true. I really need to backup my files too.

If you are on an Android phone, the Cerberus Anti Theft app is a great choice. It has a great set of features in the event your phone gets stolen or "confiscated". Even if they turn off data transfer you can still control your phone through hidden SMS communication. One small one time fee, no recurring costs and you can have up to five devices on the account.

Check it out here: Cerberus for android.

I would have asked the police for the identity of the Dyfs, saying that you intended to file a complaint against the Dyfs, and it would be essential for any litigation that the identity of their agent be part of the police record as a material witness, also in case criminal charges are eventually filed.

I’m pretty sure the police would have to at least put it in their records, and once in there as “certified” by the police, there is no more “wasn’t me” defense.

“We really need an app which can be used to take a pic and send it to a pre-set destination in one click.”

I’ve been mulling over writing something similar. You’ve got a good variant there, will consider.

“I think I would opt for living in a free state.”

Interesting that you used that nomenclature, “free state”.

Anyone got a clue what dyfs are?
Pardon me by asking, but more and more I wonder what the legal procedure is in executing search warrants.
Doesn't the recipient of the warrant have a legal right to read the warrant, keep a copy of it and get legal help to know that it has been properly executed before the storm troopers wreck the place?

Evan Nappen is one of the foremost Second Amendment attorneys in New Jersey. I met him once. He has been at the forefront, not an easy place in New Jersey.

Thanks for that information. I did not know that.

The writer, though, should have gone over his composition and made that clear to people such as myself who are not familiar with Mr. Nappen.

Ok I’m not sure what happened. They were trying to take his guns away or just look at them or what?

one of my son’s threw out of his house a female cop that was out of line....the Chief of police in the small town had her call and apologize.....they are not all idiots, some are honest...and it starts with the chief and filters down to the beat cop....my dad always said if the cops are out of line its their superiors that allow it...he was a cop and had men under him...

Interesting that you used that nomenclature, “free state”.

I'm talking in the context of 2013, not 1857. The article was about the blatant attempt to violate a family's Constitutional rights by attempting to harass the head of the house to open his safe and provide his firearms to the police for "inspection", even though there was no reasonable cause. Today's New Jersey is a socialist hellhole that violates our Constitution and Bill of Rights on so many levels. New Jersey residents are more subjects than free people.

Hey, I can express my opinion on a document, such as other Freepers often do when they see a poorly-written piece.

And I don’t give a sh@t what you think about it.

On my property they’d be on REAL rocky ground at this point. These aren’t honest officials, these are thugs.
