NEW YORK (AP) McDonald's is getting rid of its Chicken Selects and Fruit & Walnut Salad and considering cutting Angus burgers as it tries to freshen up its menu with more limited-time items.
The world's biggest hamburger chain recently introduced Fish McBites and is planning a new McWrap chicken sandwich that will be larger than its Snack Wraps.

Wataburger or go home.
For those who remember it, Burger Chef used to be #2 behind McDonalds, with their beloved Big Shef hamburger. But they were bought out by General Foods, who didn’t know how to run restaurants, and eventually sold to Hardees, that only wanted the buildings, not the burgers.
In any event,
Burger Chef Big Shef and Sauce
Ingredients:
Dill relish (not sweet relish)
Dehydrated onions
Salad dressing (Miracle Whip will do)
Louisiana Hot Sauce (no substitutes)
Add the dehydrated onions to the dill relish. Let it
sit for a couple of hours for the onions to soak up the
juice from the relish. Then add that mix to the salad
dressing. Add a little hot sauce to bring out the flavor,
but not too much!
Insides of bun sections should be lightly sprayed with
coconut oil and toasted. Meat patties should be grilled.
Big Shef assembly (in order) - Bun heel, small slice of
American cheese, salted & peppered small meat patty,
bun center, second meat patty. Big Shef sauce, shredded
lettuce, Bun top.
i never liked mcdonalds angus burgers, overpriced and under flavored, they should stivck with what works for them, big macs, cheesburgersand french fries.
The fish bites are good. They use real fish. And the price is right.
The only other thing we get there are the frappes.
I loved the Chicken Selects. It was one of my favorite things at McDonalds. Their chicken nuggets are ok but not near as good as the Chicken Selects. I used to eat the fruit and walnut salad and enjoyed it, but yogurt really upsets my stomach, so I have to stay away from that. I thought that was very good, though, and am surprised they are doing away with it.
I assume the one you cook at home is real meat. Real meat and real food is good. I define 'real' as not having a list of ingredients. McDs buns contain plaster of Paris, for example.
Tell her to get ready for high city taxes if she wants to live in the city limits. A better bet would be to live in the Cedar Park / Leander areas which are in Williamson county. Yeah, you may be called for jury duty more often, but also get to put crooks in jail as a bonus.
Ah yes, Vegetarians. I smile at them with my canines and incisors exposed. Proof that humans evolved to eat MANY things, meat among them.
If they can’t deal with reality, why are they your friends ??
Another chain that I like is Fatburger, which is more upscale. I just love their jukebox, with their eclectic disc collections. The one in Monterey Park included My Daddy Rocks Me by Trixie Smith, which some argue is the first rock and roll song.
I don’t think I ever ate at a Burger Chef, but they advertised heavily on local rock stations in the mid-1960’s.
Regular Bun:

This is from Wickipedia. This is in a McD bun
The principal use of azodicarbonamide is in the production of foamed plastics as an additive. The thermal decomposition of azodicarbonamide results in the evolution of nitrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and ammonia gases, which are trapped in the polymer as bubbles to form a foamed article. Use of azodicarbonamide as a blowing agent in plastics is banned in Europe
Eat real food. Real food does not come with a list of ingredients.
It’s been 22 years for me since i’ve eaten a McDonalds hamburger of any kind. However i get the “crave” for sliders daily! Love me some gut grenades...
and the Angus steak wrap with mushrooms.
“If they cant deal with reality, why are they your friends ??”
I’m related to two of them.
Other than the meat thing (”It helps my complexion”), they are very nice, sane people. Not militant vegetarians at all.
I have other friends who sometimes omit reality in their calculations.
I even have one or two who voted for Obama. Reality seems to be giving them a problem, now.
how far away is that?
I got so sick on the fish at McDonalds! Tossed up my cookies all night long. Don’t eat them! I was ready to give up food for lent after that night!
Cedar Park is about 20 miles from downtown Austin. Leander is another five or seven miles. The traffic on 183 during rush hour is awful, but there is a toll road that makes it a bit easier until you get to 620.
The population of both those towns was about 5,000 combined in 1991. Now, there are probably over 35,000 or more between the two. I lived 35 miles from work when we moved here in 1991 and 183 still had traffic lights at most intersections. Now, it’s a freeway. Took me about 45 minutes each way.
When I retired in 2011, it was over an hour each way with the PM commute often being 1 hour and 15 or 20 minutes. If there was an accident, add an additional 20 - 30 minutes.
Read the list of ingredients. Real food doesn't come with a list of ingredients like that. I don't eat a lot of bread, but I bake my own and keep it in the freezer. It gets mold after 5 days or so if left out. And I do use salt.
My point is that we eat far too many things that are not healthy, primarily sugar, refined flours, and chemicals that should not be considered food.
