...But the sad truth is, not many people are staying home to watch sitcoms on Friday nights anymore. Even though theyre led by TV veterans Tim Allen and Reba McEntire, Standing and Malibu lag behind much cheaper fare like Undercover Boss and Dateline in the ratings.

Tim Allen is one of the few bona fide conservatives who has cracked the liberal monopoly of primetime TV.
If you haven't seen it, "Last Man Standing" is about a family man named Mike Baxter who runs a chain of large outdoor sporting goods stores like Cabela's. He's a staunch conservative who mocks liberals and their laughably obtuse thinking while being a Dad to three daughters - two teens and one in her early 20s who has 5 year old son out of wedlock.
Although quite a bit of the humor is raunchy, Allen skewers the Left on every episode, going so far as to mock Obama by name and laud Ronald Reagan. As you can see from the photo guns figure prominently in this show with hunting rifles displayed in the store and handguns displayed in Mike's home office.
I suggest that FReepers do what we can to keep this show on the air. It's the only overtly conservative prime time show and is also genuinely funny.
Shows are sent to Friday to die by the networks...a known ‘death slot’...
We watch it every week, very good show!
I stopped watching after the second episode of the second season. They changed the actress playing the oldest daughter, and changed the dynamic between daughter and dad. During season one, she was always liberal, but being a single mom taught her the hard way that dad just might be right about a few things.
In season two, daughter automatically assumes dad is wrong on everything and now has her baby daddy around who also is liberal and gangs up on dad.
Most infuriating is how dad acts so establishment republican and ends up modifying his views to get along.
Friday night is date night and it has traditionally been a death sentence for just about any television show unfortunate enough to be aired on Friday night.
If Allen’s show is good enough, he may lose his slot with his current network, but he could be picked up by another network on another night.
If you want to save his show, petition the network by the thousands not to cancel it. Viewers can have a BIG influence on network executives’ mini-minds!!

^Bona Fide^?
Being of the same age range and same home state of Mr. Allen (as well as having followed his career as an interested Michigander), I would disagree with this statement.
I would need more substantive evidence than just “Hollywood props”. You do know that Mr. Allen has a felony cocaine bust (City of Kalamazoo) on his record, right?
Maybe he is a liberal that got mugged but, I’m exercising my grain-of-salt rights on this one.
I stopped three or four episodes into the first season, when ABC predictably introduced a lesbian couple into the storyline. I checked in for the much-ballyhooed second season opener, and checked out again. That episode depicted Tim trying to convince his own family to vote for Romney, and painted him as an Archie Bunker-ish manic Republican who (as you put it) needs to "get along".
We record every week along with Reba who follows. Interestingly she’s on a list of conservative celebrities but came out saying don’t judge the queers. Probably a necessary move to continue tape in California.
I saw a promo for Malibu — about a divorcee raising her kids ...
Didn’t Reba already do that for several years in the other sitcom?
It is so difficult for Hollow-wood to come up with new concepts and ideas.
I stopped watching for the exact same reason. That new daughter is a disaster. Really sucked all the humor out of the show.
Hard to say.
Jeff Daniels is a liberal in my book but relatively tame. More of a Michigan moderate. Maybe Allen fits in that category but the fact that I don’t know for sure makes him OK in my book.
the gutter of the networks always plays the bait and switch.
they CLAIM a show is conservative but the suits skew the message. Remember how the gutter networks claimed glee was noing to be different but it was just a typical homosexual drama queen show.
there is nothing to save.
it is all for the low information voter of the idocracy.
by the idiots for the idiots.
Too bad. I really like Nancy Travis. I like Tim Allen, but she was pretty much the only reason I ever watched it. ;-)
And lately, the dad has given in or is ineffectual to the liberal cause of the moment. It turns into a liberal lecture each week.
He rolled on his dealer to avoid doing the time.
Yes, Nancy Travis is another liberal kook, but she looked absolutely fabulous on this show!
Allen has said in interviews that he DID time in a Federal pen.
Two seasons at least two homo promo shows but I don’t watch on a regular basis.
One show normalizing a lezbo couple.
The other about the youngest daughter calling a kid gay at school.
Maybe Tim is a libertarian but not a Conservative.
ABC and NBC don’t seem to come in on my TV.
CBS, only occassionally.
