I agree about it being a bit unsettling. Two other thoughts:
It makes me want to play another Nancy Drew computer game.

Animusic has made these fakes befor to tout their 3D visualization software - check out “Pipe Dreams” or “Starship Groove” if you like this kind of thing. Personally I put it slightly above Beyonce fake-singing.
Now, what really IS impressive how Intel and a systems integrator actually produced a machine over 7 years ago to do what Animusic faked, and in only 3 months time. American exceptionalism at work!

That is computer animation. There’s a whole series of videos with those types of “machines” making music. We used to run that program on our PBS station during pledge periods, selling DVDs of the videos.
