Trying to focus on the markets for today and each day and the economic news

A number of people have talked about such a thread. Lets see how it goes. This is where you can impart some investment wisdom to your fellow freepers. You can vent about the big one that got away. You can chime in how Obama is out to wreck American capitalism.

Great idea!

I like Apple now! I didn’t, it was WAY over-priced. But, now it’s come back down to earth. May go a little lower still, but in the long run...

Also, watch for a buying opportunity on KEX Wed or Thursday. They announce earnings on Wed. I have NO ‘inside knowledge”... but, I do know the Mississippi was closed to barge traffic several times in the last quarter... this MIGHT put a slight damper of earnings. If so, I expect a little pullback.

But, longer term? The stock is still an excellent buy. They are in a field wit little competition in a market that is growing rapidly over the next few years, as the US chemical industry is making a BIG comeback, thanks to cheap Nat Gas.

Will you be starting a ping list for this thread? I’m interested. Thanks.

Good morning. I will be watching FIO today. It is dropping like a rock because the bears are in the drivers seat before earnings. I will be making limit buys today in prep for a pop.

This thread is a great idea. I’ll be watching the flow of money from bonds into equities this qtr, and the prepetual Fed pumping in treasuries, trying to figure out when the bubble will burst.

figure out when the bubble will burst.

When it does, what is your strategy?

Ford down 6% today.

A good buy price will likely be approaching in the next days but it's too early now.

Just sold APA for $85/shr that I bought the other day for 83.5. I am freeing up funds for the ZTS IPO Friday. I wanted to hold it for more but don’t know how long FIO is going to tie up my money.

Yippee! Glad to see us starting this. I’m a Gold/Silver-bug, so most of you won’t be interested in my views, but maybe I can eventually talk some sense into ya, LOL!

Apple just released one of the BEST quarterly reports in the HISTORY of business.. and, got pummeled by 15%.

That’s what happens when free-loaders jump off the band-wagon. Left in their wake is a terrific company, making products that people like.... earning TONS of money, and sitting on >$135 BILLION in cash.

The more people review this company, the price level, and the future prospects, they will continue to WANT to own it.

OOps... Kirby (KEX) earnings were strong.. they’re popping today. :-)

Pulte Homes is WAY to expensive. Good idea.. just a little too late figuring it out.

I’m now looking at PMT.. PennyMax REIT. Has a strong dividend, and seems to have a good foundation. Also looks like a decent time to buy in.
