Prayers up for the job interview.
LOL. The older I get, the more procrastinator I get. Funny how that works.LOL.
Indeed we are enjoying unseasonably mild temps here in Central Missouri. Personally, I wish it turn back cold. I’ve got work to do outdoors and until the ground freezes again I can’t get where I need to be without rutting things up something awful.

Enjoy!
We got just over 4” of slow, much needed rain the past two days. Thank God, but we also need runoff to fill the lakes.
Some seedlings up and roaring already...broccoli and Purple of Sicily cauliflower looking good, my Iditarod Red dwarf tomatoes are cranking, hot peppers like regular Bhut Jolokia and the ‘Peach’ variety are up, along with both Trinidad Scorpion and the TS Moruga strain. Yellow Devil’s Tongue also up, but still waiting on another Naga Morich...first one had ‘helmet head’, and I couldn’t save it. I was testing my saved tomato seed, and I got 100% germination...now I have these beautiful 8-10 inch plants in the middle of January in Red Hampshire. Swell.
LOL. I feel your pain. We gave that problem too, but we switched gears and Hubby put down a path made from patio squares marked to look like bricks.
A friend gave us several to use and now the path from the North patio to the backyard gate and compost container is no longer a muddy place where grass can’t seem to grow. It looks like a nice brick path.
Also, he cut up some boards to finish a pantry shelf and some dollies for plants.
Thanks for the links.
Praying for rain, and a return to normal rainfall for you and all areas impacted by the drought.
Sounds like a good start. Do you know what peppers are used for regular chili powder? Just spicy, not hot?
Generally the cayennes...some people also use cayennes for tinctures in case of a cardiac event...a good all-purpose pepper to have around...
Someone else mentioned cayenne and heart attacks. I hadn’t heard it before. All I have ever heard is to put an aspirin under your tongue.
10-15 drops of cayenne tincture in water...I did it once for the hell of it...you’ll know it’s pepper.
I finally got some tomatoes and peppers started indoors. They should have been started at Christmas but the moon wasn’t right. Now we’ll see how long before the cat knockes them over. I couldn’t find the jalapeno seeds I wanted so am trying some grocery store jalapenoes that I saved some seeds from - one some unknown jalepeno and a Hatch. Hey, nothing lost and can’t be worse than the RIDICULOUSLY HOT ones I’ve planted the past two years. I have some air drying and used one (no seeds) in a crockpot of chili this week and it made it plenty spicy hot.
Finally baked up and put up the last of the tomatoes harvested at the first freeze.
We’ve had a couple weeks of freezing nights but the lettuce is still popping up here and there. Yeehaw, we had RAIN yesterday! Today was so nice I threw open the windows and the dogs were happy snoozing in the sunshine but it’s supposed to turn cold again tomorrow.
Snow melted off the patio today when the temps hit fifty-four degrees. The kohl plants survived after fifteen inches of snow in western PA since Christmas.
Yipee Skippy. Survival is nifty.LOL
I love growing indoor tomatoes. No pesky squirrels can beat me to them, and I can let them mature on the vine. I really need to figure out a way to get a green house/garden room attached to my house. LOL.
This may be off the trail a bit, but I just ran across this article about using tires for compost containers and I was wondering if anyone had ever used this kind of method?
I’m a total newby to composting, btw. Done a lot of reading, but never actually been involved with it.
