Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev’s off-air comments that Russian Presidents are given a secret file about extraterrestrials living among us created much media interest. Most news reports claimed that Medvedev was simply joking. His apparent reference to the Men In Black movie as a source of information on a super secret agency that monitors extraterrestrials on Earth was commonly cited as key evidence that he was in fact joking. The reasoning is that no political leader would refer reporters to a comedy to clarify national policy. It has now emerged that Medvedev was not referring to the Men in Black comedy after all, but to a recent Russian television documentary titled “Men in Black” that reveals many details about an extensive cover up of extraterrestrial life visiting Earth.
However, a more accurate translation of what Medvedev actually said about the Men in Black phenomenon was: “You can receive more detailed information having watched the documentary film of the same name.” So Medvedev was referring to a Russian “documentary film” titled Men in Black, not the Hollywood blockbuster by the same name...
Russian Men In Black (MIB) documentary, a number of prominent UFO cases in Russia and the USA are discussed. The Roswell UFO crash is covered, along with a number of extraterrestrial abduction cases, and UFOs disabling nuclear weapons facilities. The documentary examines testimony that extraterrestrial bases have been established on Earth, and that some are in restricted US military areas with the full knowledge of the Pentagon. The documentary even goes on to seriously discuss President Eisenhower’s alleged meeting with extraterrestrials, where agreements were reached with some of the visitors giving them permission to take some of the Earth’s resources in exchange for advanced technology...

Vents from the septic tank run back up through the house and exhaust on the roof. If there is a leak inside the house in the vent, or a joint in the vent, it causes our problem.
Actually, it was the ABS plastic. This house was built about 14 years ago, right about the time construction contractors were switching from PVC to ABS. However, the ABS was found to deteriorate, after ten or so years, and cause problems like our septic-vent leak.
After the one plumber, Jason, spent an entire day trying to find the leak and failing, Hubby did a ton of research, both on our construction plans for the house and about the ABS and found out what the problem was, and where it was. That was why the plumbers were able to fix it at all.
The plumbers ripped up quite a bit of the ABS, found the place where it was leaking, and replaced it all with PVC. Then they sealed the ABS/PVC joints with Neoprene and stainless steel bands with worm-gear screws.
The [cough] “aroma” has returned to normal (no septic-tank gas), and the repairs should not leak again in our lifetimes.
If your house was built before 1999, you should be all right as well.
All this talk of packing, moving and fixing plumbing...

Spent (and I DO mean “SPENT”) TEN days in Oregon doing packing and moving things for my FIL, then spent my first five hours back home doing plumbing things for my renters.
THEN — 11:00am this morning — I get a call telling me Pop’s place up in OR was broken into. Nothing taken, ‘cuz we left nothing in the house to take, but they busted up a couple of door handles, and no doubt the property management will nick us for a few dead Presidents to fix that.
May have to make a trip back this weekend or next to improve security on the property.

I laid down hundreds of feet of SOLID ABS sewer system back in the mid-1980’s, and I never heard of the solid ABS pipe breaking down except from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. You’ll find that cellular core ABS pipe exposed to UV from the Sun does eventually deteriorate, but only if it is left unpainted.
The black color of ABS pipe comes from the carbon black UV inhibitor that is part of the material, so it is very resistant to UV even if left exposed, and unpainted.
AFAIK, Building Codes typically prefer (if not outright require) SOLID ABS sewer line to cellular core ABS, and they usually require that any roof penetrations have a thorough coating of paint.
If your problem child wasn’t exposed to UV, the deterioration was likely due to another cause; maybe material incompatibility as might be encountered trying to glue ABS pipe using PVC solvent, or the other way ‘round.
Glad you’ve got it beat, though.

It was a joint failure, basically the temperature extremes here caused stress fractures from continual expansion and contraction.
This is not a sewer line, it is a septic-system fume vent that was leaking into the house. And yes, thank you, it is all sorted out now.
And also thank you for the information about ABS, UV inhibitor, and the durability of same. I'll stop planning to have all the ABS replaced. ;-)

It may explain Russia’s antagonism and mistrust towards the US and the swagger of many of our politicians who feel that they can do or say what they want because they know our nation has some type of secret protection going for it.
The existence of such beings may also provide a challenge and crisis of faith for many otherwise decently moral politicians because the philosophies and moralities of these beings may be directly opposite of our Judeo-Christian heritage...thus leading to laws and policies that would dismantle our heritage lynchpins that undergird our constitution. If Christ be not true then anything goes. Our politicians are acting as though they don’t believe it to be true. Of course they are elected, so in some sense they do reflect the moral level of the nation....but many have commented that politicians seem to go spineless and undergo a leftward tilt once in DC. If these politicians are being exposed to realities and information being kept from the American public, that would explain their behavior changes.
“Who is like unto the beast and who can make war against it....?” The Bible speaks of a man, an economic system and perhaps a national/military power base to back him up. The US may be mentioned in prophecy, but not in a way that American Christians would like us to have been portrayed!
Since you are a freeper....I would tend to believe you if you told me that you saw something like that. You saw something any way. People tend to try to interpret at the same time they listen to observational data or hear it related to them and thus the immediate reaction of mirth and
skepticism. To listen without immediately attempting to interpret the data according to ones own preconceived notions actually opens the door to more further truth!
Being a freeper already gives you an aura of rational mindedness, so if you told me in all seriousness you say you saw a green orb, then I will believe you...though in truth given the humorous ways freepers will joke with each other, I will still be wary of the punch line!
After reading Genesis 1-9, I have a very open mind on the subject. Though we have to be careful not to wander into Quix territory, at least on this site!

This damp and traditionally-weathered morning (37 and overcast, might rain later), I tried on a dress my daughter Elen wore for Easter in 2011, when she was 13. Zipped right up!

At one point, I had the Cub Scouts (they are all 6 years old) jumping up and down to see who could do it the longest. That occupied them for at least five minutes, and then they were tired and ready to work on the craft activity!
It will be nice when it’s light in the evenings, so I can take them outside. Our church is on a hilly, wooded property, managed as a bird/wildlife sanctuary by some of the “greener” parishioners, so there’s always something to see.
A couple of years ago, I took the Cubs outside, and one of the parents sat down on a bench and found a big snake beside her! It looked a lot like a copperhead (venomous), but is actually a Northern Water Snake (might bite you, but not venomous). It’s a long-time resident, and our Greeniest parishioner has given it a name.
On point number 1: There is still nothing like a planet with stable star to base operations on. The beings in question may need certain intrinsic things found only on this planet. Depending on modes of acceleration, the ability to stop and start just to get stuff you need from asteroids may be severely limited. There may be spiritual or multidimensional aspects to these beings that they need bipedal “husks” of sufficient cranial capacity to “inhabit” so that they can interact with a matter universe...hence their interest in humans. (Ie: read the story of Christ’s interaction with the multidemoniac entity that called itself “Legion”).
2.On point #2: Certain limits placed on these entities from outside the earth...say galactic civilizations and certain prime directives may force them to make agreements. Intelligence might not be as advanced in some these beings as was supposed as humans seem to be able to grasp many of the advanced technological concepts as they are introduced to them. Only the age of these civilizations and tech advancement of these beings gives them the edge over humans. Humans use barely the full potential of their minds so we hardly know what we are fully capable of...still there still seem to be limits placed on us at this stage of our development.
Even the OT speaks of God making a “covenant” with His people. Much of our mythic literature speaks of agreement being made between Gods and Men. Free will seems to be the key here, hence all the warnings in the Bible as well as mythic texts warning us to take care regarding the choices we as men should make.(refer back to my response to point number 1).
From a biblical perspective, in the 20th century America was the greatest base for Christian outreach the World had ever seen, yet it has now become one of the greatest sources of moral depravity in the 21st century. Satan and his fallen minions might have tried to establish direct inroads with our military and government to undermine America’s spiritual influence for good by promising certain amoral politicians certain favors in exchange for policies and directives that would set America on a path of decay there-bye destroying its spiritual favor with God. Demonic influences would also be at work in our schools and media, reinforcing a Marxist progressive dogma that would replace the power of our Judeo Christian heritage.
