The dinner bill for three friends at Chilly D's Restaurant stung, but it wasn't the price - printed on the top of the receipt were the words "Fat Girls".
"I got the bill, I was looking at bill [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say 'fat girls?'" customer Christine Duran said.
The friends had dined out at the Stockton, Calif., restaurant, which is a part of the Cameo Casino Restaurant, on Thursday. The bill lists charges for three tri-tips with fries and three sodas, for a total of $25.50. A bartender named Jeff had apparently typed in "Fat Girls" to keep track of their bill.
When Duran asked a manager for an explanation, he "had like a smirk on his face, like it was funny but trying not to laugh," she said.

Why do you think I'm out to lunch in those departments when I haven't posted anything about those aspects of this farce?
Whoever wrote it would be fired if they worked for me. Whether or not there's a supervision problem is impossible to tell from the facts we know, if you've ever been a supervisor, you know there's a first time for everything.
Past tense?
Well, with those three, at least the usual suspects will not be clamoring for someone to give them a cheeseburger because real women have curves and do not look like prepubescent boys!
Whoever wrote it would be fired if they worked for me.
Eating is the new smoking!
Im not sure, but I would guess that one could not call this defamation.
Well, if the guy had gone on the media and described them, they might have a case for emotional distress or something.
But they themselves are the ones making a big deal out of it - and millions of people will hear about it and see the pics.
And I think most would agree with the waiter!!!
“What if your bill said gay guy?”
Excellent point! Had it said that there would be hell to pay.
There was no reason for the bartender to be rude!
We can all she they are overweight. However in this economy a better thing to have said then “fat chicks” is “Job security”.
Had this bartender not been so rude the fat chicks would still be eating there. Now because of this bad publicity they and other “fat chicks” won’t eat there. Think of this in business terms ie dollars. In this economy is this restaurant chain really rich enough they don’t need fat people’s money? Hey it spends the same.
Did they use EBT cards to pay for their meals?
And getting someone fired over a minor insult is not admirable. Had the manager simply taken the girls' lunch out of the bartender's pay, he'd have made his point sufficiently. People over-react. Indeed, I think they enjoy over-reacting.
And getting someone fired over a minor insult is not admirable.
People that I hire (like me) mean well but do screw up. In all the years of my business, I have encountered only one who I so serously misjudged in the hiring process. She was socially irredemable and needed to be bandished from the land of the living.
She was a black racist who I hired on the begging of a Black Christian minister, who I love. That never happened again. God Himself, uses ministers to attempt redemnation of the demon possessed; not my business. I will help the normal down and out and that works out okay. She actually attacked a white employee like she was rabid at work. She was “dissed”, then she was unemployed, then she was back in prison where she belonged.
I would still fire someone who referred to customers as fat in writting if my business is a resturant. Treating customers like they are the pay check would not be in doubt by the bartenders in that business enviornment if I were the boss. Writing “fat” on the customer’s receipt...that is so aggressively disrespectful, how do I know he’s not spitting or beating off in the customers’ food?
Oh nonsense, calling someone fat is childish and rude, but it doesn’t rise to the level of beating off in their food. Look, you feel how you want and I’ll feel how I want. I say making him pay for their dinner would have been lesson enough, and no one should lose their livlihood because he called someone fat... especially if it was, I’m sorry, the TRUTH. It’s rude, but that’s all it is. That is MHO and you aren’t changing it.
No nonsense. Spoken like a “perfect lady” who have not run a business and managed a staff. : ) Good mommy, though.
I’m a middle-school teacher, which may account for it: we cannot “fire” students. And in the end, those whom we gave a second chance often made us glad we did. If you fire someone who makes a stupid mistake, and you never see them again, you might not ever find out that you used a shotgun when a fly-swatter would have done the trick.
I don’t think you read or comprehended what I wrote to you. You are good at working with middle school children and I am glad you are there. I am not kidding. You are a good person and think right from your universe. Like my sister. She does special education.
However, employers in business working with adults who provide service to customers would think differently about “misbehavior” like this. For a middle school child, you just teach them the way they are supposed to be. At adulthood, you expect a certain level of maturity and trust so they don’t chase away the customers. That’s the way it is.
We are going to have to agree to disagree. Even adults make mistakes and need guidance from time to time. I maintain that a verbal reprimand and making the bartender buy the girls’ dinner would have ended that behavior. That is my opinion and that is the last I have to say on the matter.
How dare some one insult these fat indigenous carbo-loading heffalumps!!!!
