The dinner bill for three friends at Chilly D's Restaurant stung, but it wasn't the price - printed on the top of the receipt were the words "Fat Girls".
"I got the bill, I was looking at bill [and] I was like, 'Why does this receipt say 'fat girls?'" customer Christine Duran said.
The friends had dined out at the Stockton, Calif., restaurant, which is a part of the Cameo Casino Restaurant, on Thursday. The bill lists charges for three tri-tips with fries and three sodas, for a total of $25.50. A bartender named Jeff had apparently typed in "Fat Girls" to keep track of their bill.
When Duran asked a manager for an explanation, he "had like a smirk on his face, like it was funny but trying not to laugh," she said.

And what is the problem with an idiot who insults customers losing his job? I think that is the funny part of the story. The punch line of a low IQ bully “joke.” A sheeple.
No, didn’t you get the memo? They’re not fat; they’re “curvy.” /s
Several years ago when we were looking at our bill, the waitress had identified my ex-husband as “Mr. Cute”. We all got a chuckle, and my niece and nephew called him “Uncle Cute” for years after that.
I don't know if that tee is available, but I bet the size is coming. Just try to find a size small in women's clothing today. Most of it is L, XL, XXL, and XXXL. A salesperson told me it's because people are becoming increasingly obese, and if you want the smaller sizes, shop early and grab what you see quickly.
You're trying awfully hard to make this a right/left issue.
The biggest separator of right vs. left, in my mind, is the issue of personal responsibility.
It's not the fault of the poor that they're poor. It's not the fault of the drug addict or alcoholic that they're addicted. It's not the fault of the pregnant woman that she's pregnant. It's not the fault of the murderer that he murdered.
We'll, in the real world, with very few exceptions, it IS the fault of fat people that they're fat. They can change their situation if they work at it.
Getting offended when someone calls a "spade" a "spade", expecting a free meal out of it, and hoping that one has grounds for a law-suit because someone pointed out the truth are not conservative responses.
It's been called "fat" for a long time. You wouldn't be offended at being called "fat" if "fat" weren't a bad, unhealthy thing. If you don't like being fat and unhealthy, take some personal responsibility and do something about it.
And, before anyone goes down the path of "glandular issues" and the like, I did point out that there are exceptions (very few).
The bartender losing his job is fine, I’d have fired him for that also or at least reprimanded him (if he was really a good bartender). The problem is the free meal - I think that is a little counter-productive to the issue at hand.
Ok..call them short girls.
By the looks of then they should have wrote “3 tons of fun”!
I got a bill from the guy who steams the roof. Evidently the customers just prior to me were “Cranky old people!” because I could see the impression of these words pressed into my invoice! LOL!
ok they are paying customers,
they are still fat.
Right. It's not funny. It is cruel. It is directed at customers.
So what?
My point is, in a healthy society, the appropriate punishment is permanent loss of 3 customers.
The appropriate reaction of the beached whales is to tell the manager, not to go back, and then shut up out of embarrassment.
It's a sick society that turns this into a news story.
Oh, please. Haven`t we fattened lawyers enough in this society? How about a written apology instead?
I agree that with all that’s going on, this should not be delivered as “news.”
However, I think you are out to lunch in the customer relations and employee supervision departments of the resturant business.
SUE THE FORKS.
Agreed VERY RUDE at the least BUT this may be the way he keeps the checks straight.
If one were to look at the other checks and one was marked, Tall Guy, 4w1m, Skinny folks, blond, redhead etc etc it could be called a tool.
If it were me, a comment such as “Every heard the one about Fat People being Jolly”? “Well, in this case it isn’t true”.
NO TIP FOR YOU
We definitely are getting over sensitive, with SUE being the operative word.
Food doesn't make people Fat
Forks Do! :)
(love it!)
Great. Now I have Beef Stew on my keyboard...
I think these people are crazy, if I were in this situation I would be too embarrassed to bring the public into it.
BUT...they are well within their rights to contact the manager, describe the situation, and the manager would be advised to fire the employee. I would in his/her shoes.
Customer service is the bottom line for any service oriented company. The customer should always be right, and any employee who said or did anything disrespectful to a customer (short of a physical assault or perhaps even a vicious verbal personal assault on that employee) would be shown the door.
If it is my company, my employees won’t be allowed to put my livlihood in jepoardy, which is what you do when you treat any customer poorly.
That said, what takes place is up to the owner of the business.
I not only have no problem with the free meal, if I were the owner/manager, I would invite them back for a free meal.
Customer service is the lifeblood of any customer-serving organization, and when word gets out you don’t care about your customers, your revenues WILL go in the wrong direction...unless, of course, you are called Verizon or...the government.
My view exactly.
