FLORIDAS GOP ESTABLISHMENT TRYING TO REDISTRICT ALLEN WEST OUT OF A SEAT? - January 31st, 2012
Allen West: House GOP leadership sold us down the road for pathetic policy - January 06, 2012
If he had anything to do with the loss of the greatest Representative in our life time, then I would get banned for saying what I am thinking.
Why would he. If u remember West was Boneheads hatchet man in twisting
arms on new house members to vote for the debt increase.
You know that deal. The one the GOP passed and are now
complaining about because of the automatic cuts it contains.
My question to the GOP is... If u don’t like it now, why did u like it then?
Boehner did something similar to conservative Rep Steve Austria in SW Ohio. After this week, I’m really sick of him.
Remember ... deals are made on the golf course.
Much of the South Florida “republican establishment” was hostile to LTC West from the moment he announced his interest in running.
The Rinos are having a little fun with the Tea Party types like myself. I’m just about done with voting for the buttoned up, country club, Republican. I’m fed up with the words of Boehner because his actions don’t match.
I’m sure he did. You know what? Maybe the GOPe wants us out of the Party as much as we want them out. Kinda like the Democrat internal battle between the DLC and the DNC.
Perhaps Boehner AND Obama both want us to go over the cliff then. Planned all along and this crap is just more drama, taking Benghazi off the front page. Here is the other thing, the defense cut part of that grand deal is not getting discussed at all!
I keep expecting boner to become a democrat any day now
Isn’t redistricting a state function ?
Can we blame Boehner for Natural disasters too, or perhaps national obesity or the passing of marijuana laws out west....
Some people here think Boehner has alot of power, the Speaker is god-like ?
I hope Boehner has the guts to not blink and drive us over that “cliff”.
Because the frickin cliff is a myth... something coined by the media to get people spun up. We are in a recession and the thousands of new regulations will keep us there. Taxes will go up regardless - the cliff is more like a small step. And if Obama wants to go there then fine.... the economy will suck for 4 more years.
Boehner is simply the head Judenrat stooge of the MarxoFascists.
Conservatives have been targeted for a Final Solution and the GOP is the mechanism the Marxists will use to make our ‘handling’..... acceptable.
That was the reason I clicked on this one. A person would have to be on some really heavy drugs to think Gerrymandering can be influenced by the US House.
if anyone doubts this then please allow me to put in my early pre-vote for Boehner being the cause of the mass extinction of dinosaurs.
In 2010, Florida voters approved two anti-gerrymandering amendments to the state constitution. West’s district, which was the most heavily gerrymandered in the state, was redrawn and was no long viable for a Republican to win. The new provisions of the state constitution virtually required this result. West therefore ran in 2012 in a nearby district.
Probably.
He could move to my district in North Carolina and the seat. Or my old district 1 in Florida
If that is the case as you say, then explain the seat for Corrine Brown! I contend what we are seeing is the end of the charade that one side is more centered to one ideological philosophy than the other. They are simply two ends to a single means and we the serfs are the meat in the sandwich.
Florida GOP got greedy. Wanted to preserve all incumbents PLUS win the two new seats. So, they thinned Republican strength in many places (most particularly, they thinned Republican strength in West’s district). Wound up taking one of the two new seats, but lost three old ones. Overall, went from 19-6 margin to 17-10. Lesson: Thin pigs get fed. Fat pigs get slaughtered.
” Boehner being the cause of the mass extinction of dinosaurs”
like it ... lol
Meanwhile, the popularly approved anti-gerrymandering amendment in the Florida Constitution specifies that "No apportionment plan or district shall be drawn with the intent to favor or disfavor a political party or an incumbent . . ."
Thus, as a matter of law, Alan West could not be protected in redistricting. The amendment that put that language in the Florida Constitution and that hurt West was drawn up by and campaigned for by a liberal group and backed heavily by the Democratic Party and its interest groups and by the state's newspapers.
